DJ Mag Releases Their Top 100 DJs Of 2016

Grant Gilmore by Grant Gilmore

in News

While we hate stealing the exact same sentence from last year’s post, but the same sentiments hold true. DJ Mag has once again left many people confused and disappointed with their ranking of the top 100 DJs in the world. While most everyone we know at this point does not take this list as seriously as they once did, it is still interesting to see which names are and are not on the list. Year in and year out, we are baffled at names that climb higher, while others are completely unrepresented on the list entirely.

This year, notable jumps include artists like Swanky Tunes and Galantis, while a major re-entry was obviously going to be seen from The Chainsmokers. Notable drops include DANNIC, Dyro, Porter Robinson, and Showtek, that all fell over 30 places. I personally cannot fathom how artists like Eric Prydz and Carl Cox placed as low as they did, or how other artists that have done virtually nothing this year have surpassed them. Artists like Tom Swoon, Alan Walker, and Marshmello were also new contenders that we saw placed this year. The exclusion of major artists like Kaskade and Madeon are tragic in their own rights, as both artists also had massive years…but hey…it’s DJ Mag so nothing surprises me anymore. Check out the full list below, and make sure to click on those names for more information, interviews, or releases from these artists!

Stay tuned, as we will have our annual top 100 re-rank coming soon, but until then…

Congrats to Martin Garrix for securing the spot of Number 1 DJ in the world in 2016!
