in Artist Series

In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2017, we want to give attendees the opportunity to know the new talent who will be joining the ranks of “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature information on the DJs who are new to Dreamstate SoCal this year and give you some beats to help familiarize you with their work. First up in our series is… Andrew Bayer!

Don’t forget to check out the other artist bios in our series to get familiar with the rest of the new artists on the lineup!

If you’ve been a fan of trance over the past decade, it has been hard to ignore the impact that Andrew Bayer has made on the genre.

His musical journey began around the year 2001 when he first took up music production, and he studied at the Berklee College of Music to dive deeper into the music world. Prior to releasing music under his own name, he teamed up with Alan Nimmo on project Signalrunners in 2003 to give the world some amazing beats. While the project is still listed as active, it has been without a release since 2008.

The year 2010 proved to be a pivotal year for Andrew, as that was when Above & Beyond signed him to Anjuna. Coming after years of sending demos, his first solo release, The Taxi Driver EP, came on Anjunadeep that year, and was followed up by his debut album It’s Artificial in 2011 on Anjunabeats.

Since then, Andrew Bayer has not only become a beloved member of the Anjuna Family but an influential one as well.

He went on to release tracks like “Perth”, “The District”, “Celestial”, and “Memories”, all of which have been well received by tastemakers and fans around the world. His recent EP releases of Do Androids Dream and Anamnesis are both examples of his brilliance as an artist, as well as his second album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave.

If you listen closely to his work you’ll notice that it definitely has helped drive the current Anjunabeats sound, as he worked directly with Above & Beyond while co-producing their Group Therapy and We Are All We Need albums. Andrew has also been given credit on a variety of releases ranging from mix compilations to tracks and is one of the most sought after producers in the scene. He clearly has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.

Andrew is a must-catch artist on any lineup.

Having taken the stage at ABGT 50, 100, and most recently b2b with Ilan Bluestone at ABGT 200 at the Ziggo Dome, he is already well-known by the Anjuna-faithful. You may have also caught him around the country on the Anjunabeats Tour or at major festivals like Ultra Miami and Creamfields, bringing his signature sound with him wherever he goes. Prior to debuting for the first time at Dreamstate SoCal this November, you can catch him on Groove Cruise LA to get some quality beats on the high seas.

Get a taste for his upcoming set below with a set from ABGT100 at Madison Square Garden!
