In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2017, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bios of DJs who will take the stage at Dreamstate SoCal this year, as well as some beats to help familiarize you with their work. Next in our series is… Ilan Bluestone!
Don’t forget to check out the other artist bios in our series to get familiar with the rest of the new artists on the lineup!
Over the past several years, Ilan Bluestone has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the trance scene.
The London-based DJ and producer has exploded onto the scene, bringing with him a heart-pounding progressive style that has made him one of Anjunabeats’ most sought-after artists in just a few years’ time. He initially began producing music under several aliases in addition to his full name, with his first official release, “Lucy (Liam Blue Stone Mix)” coming out under one of them on Universal Music Italia in 2006.
Bluestone has become well-known for producing sharp, edgy tunes that incorporate experimental sounds that keep pushing the envelope in terms of innovation. Early hits such as “Capetown” and “Under My Skin”, his collaboration with fellow Anjunabeats artist Jerome Isma-Ae, quickly garnered attention from fans and fellow DJs alike for their unique sound and energy.

Things heated up still further for Bluestone in 2015 when he had the distinct honor of opening for Above & Beyond at their ABGT 100 show at Madison Square Garden. If fans weren’t aware of the talented young producer at that time, they certainly were after his energetic set, which was broadcast around the world via livestream.
Since then, he’s become a staple at those milestone performances and Anjunabeats tours and even had the privilege of mixing the Anjunabeats Worldwide 05 compilation, featuring some of his own tracks such as “Cloudchaser”, “Bonsai”, and “All these Wounds”, a collaboration with BT.

Ilan Bluestone cites Above & Beyond, Swedish House Mafia, and Hans Zimmer as influences for his own music, to name a few. Between his uncommon inspirations and his obsessive focus on his production process, it’s no small wonder that he’s constantly bringing us new sounds.
Bluestone recently announced that he will be releasing a brand new album, Scars, this fall on Anjunabeats. The title track and lead single from the album features singer/songwriter Giuseppe De Luca and is a bit of a departure from his signature sound, marrying dubstep and trance for a brand new sound that we’ve never heard from him before.
One thing is for certain – if you are headed to Dreamstate SoCal this November, Ilan Bluestone is a set you don’t want to miss. If you love pulse-pounding trance beats with a melodic, innovative twist, his set will be just the ticket.
