For over 20 years now, Paul Oakenfold has been producing music for the world to enjoy. One of the “OG”s of dance music, Oakenfold has broken boundaries and made himself a household name around the world. Unless you have been living under a rock, I am sure at some point you have listened to something that Oakenfold has had his hand in producing. Boasting multiple Grammy nominations, performing at the Great Wall of China, scoring popular Hollywood films like Swordfish and Matrix Reloaded, touring with Madonna and U2, being ranked #1 on the DJ Mag Top 100 lists not once but twice, and being the first DJ to have a residency in Vegas are just some of the reasons that Paul Oakenfold is quite literally one of the biggest name in the scene.
Most recently, the dance music master has joined ranks with dance music producers BRKLYN and Australian singer/songwriter Amba Shepherd to come up with a new vocal track for all of us to enjoy! The track is called, “U Are” and its out now on Thrive Music. This track is the first single leading up to Paul’s new album ‘PopKiller‘, set for release later this year. BRKLYN are the masterminds that gave us “Steal Your Heart” and “Can’t Get Enough”, which are two popular dance anthems. BRKLYN were also the guys playing the guitars in Alesso and Nico & Vinz’s, “I Wanna Know” and have most recently landed a residency at Hakkasan in Las Vegas. On the flip side, we have Amba Shepherd. You may know her as the voice on Hardwell’s “Apollo” and “United We Are”. Probably one of the most recognizable voices in the industry, her collaboration with Oakenfold on “U Are” is nothing short of perfection.
“U Are” is a feel good track meant for the main stage. That is the first thing that comes to mind as I listen. I picture a massive crowd of Paul Oakenfold fans waving their flags, trading kandi with new-found friends, and dancing as one to a tune that is saturated in positive vibes. This track is full of emotion and fun. It is nothing too deep or complicated, just a great new main stage track by some incredibly talented artists.
