Above & Beyond closed their ABGT700 set with a downtempo version of “Sun & Moon,” which doubled as the first single off Anjuna:Chilled 01, a new compilation series on Anjunachill.
Anjunafamily members just experienced an emotional rollercoaster this past weekend at ABGT700. Those who made their way to The Gorge were met with some rough weather, but Above & Beyond pressed on to deliver another incredible milestone set that was filled with classics and fresh tunes. One of those new gems arrived as their performance came to a close, as the trio debuted a downtempo version of their hit tune with Richard Bedford, “Sun & Moon.”
“Sun & Moon” is arguably Above & Beyond’s signature single, helping define the trio’s sound within the trance and progressive house realm over the past decade. Its lyrics ooze with emotion and include a new second verse, and the downtempo version captures that atmosphere perfectly while harkening back to the style of their Acoustic era. But this new version of “Sun & Moon” wasn’t the only treat from Above & Beyond, as they’ve revealed that it’s the first single off Anjuna:Chilled 01.
Anjuna:Chilled is a new compilation series from Anjunachill that’s due out on December 3. This series will revisit and rework classics from Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, allowing Anjunafamily members worldwide to rediscover and fall back in love with these gems.
Our Anjunachill imprint is now four years old, and has hosted some inspiring downtempo and neo-classical rearrangements of records we’ve loved throughout Anjuna’s 25 years. ‘Anjuna:Chilled 01’ is the first edition of a series that sees artists revisit records from the Anjuna catalog, providing fresh takes and helping us fall in love with music from the past two decades all over again.
Above & Beyond
Reworked tracks that will be found on Anjuna:Chilled 01 include Jaytech’s “Atlantic,” Dusky’s “Mr Man,” Justin Blau and XIRA’s “Tokyo,” Luminary’s “Amsterdam,” and Maor Levi’s “Reflect.” While many of these new versions will arrive from Above & Beyond, other artists taking on the rework duties include Jody Wisternoff and James Grant, Ryan Davis, Planet Of Souls, and more.
