In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2016, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bio’s of four Dreamstate DJ’s as well as a set from one of their latest events or some recent releases so you can get to know them better. Next in our series is… Ritmo!
Ritmo:
In Spanish ritmo means rhythm. Our next Dreamstate SoCal DJ has harnessed the concept of rhythm and perfected it, capturing the special moments in our lives that drive our pulse into an ever changing rhythmic dance, and translating it into unique progressive trance productions. Dubi Dagan, or Ritmo as we all know him, is a DJ/producer from Tel-Aviv Israel who’s passion for music runs deep and long. Honing his skills as the resident DJ at the Luna Club at Haifa and working as the sound engineer at DubiDub Studios, his desire was to discover the perfect sound and translate it into musical productions. With his plans in place, Dubi took off on a music making journey and in 2007 he would sign with Iono Music Records. His life would never be the same.
In 2008, Ritmo’s debut album was released. The album was titled ‘Disharmonic Silence’ and what it stirred up was most definitely the opposite of silence. The buzz ran hard and fast and soon Ritmo would become a global name. Traveling the world and collaborating with the biggest names in the game became his priority and goal and in chasing this colossal dream, he found himself playing at events like Fusion festival (Germany),

Next up on his to do list would be to produce a track that would top the charts and sky rocket him to the next level of fame. So, in 2009 Ritmo released ‘Archive 9’, an album packed full of nasty remixes, including his remix for MUTe & Shay Nassi called “On Off”. This track flew up the Beatport Charts on the Psychedelic Trance section for 2 full weeks! Fast forward to 2011 and he would drop yet another insane production known as ” Phrase A”. Continuously working on crafting a fresh sound and never wanting to settle for anything less than what he knows he is capable of, in 2013 “Phrase B” was born. Now in 2016, Ritmo is at the peak of his game. His latest album ‘Adventures’ is the sum of all of his travels throughout his career, blending the many different melodies and rhythms that he absorbed throughout his journey, piecing them together to form a magnificent catalog of musical perfection.
