In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2017, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bios of DJs who will take the stage at Dreamstate SoCal this year, as well as some beats to help familiarize you with their work. Next in our series is… Fady & Mina!
Don’t forget to check out the other artist bios in our series to get familiar with the rest of the new artists on the lineup!
Two musical geniuses became masterminds in uplifting trance!
Music has not just been a hobby for the Egyptian duo Fady Hany and Mina Alaa (a.k.a. Fady and Mina). Music has been a passion for almost their entire lives. Fady started out with music at the age of six learning the keyboard, and Mina started mixing at the young age of 12. Their musical abilities soared through their early years, and eventually, they discovered the wonderful world of trance music.
They fell in love with trance. Starting out with darker sounds and eventually shifting into more uplifting melodies, they have brought their passion into their music and given fans multiple beautiful masterpieces. Their first break came in 2009, where they were signed to Omerta Records with their track “Aviation”.

The duo won “Best New Comer” in the Global Trance Awards in 2011. That year, they released their debut EP which included the tracks “Overdrive” and “Egypt” on the famous Future Sound of Egypt record label created by Aly & Fila. Many artists showed massive support for the new EP, playing the tracks in radio shows and sets. Their momentum has not slowed down since. Over the last six years, the duo has released many more tracks that have been played globally, including “Kinetics”, “Valiant”, and my personal favorite, “Akemi”.
“Akemi” is one of my favorite trance tracks of all time.
Released this year, “Akemi” instantly became one of my favorites. The track starts out with the beautiful sounds we’re used to hearing from songs released on Future Sound of Egypt and around one minute into the track, the stunning uplifting melody comes in. During the two-minute mark is when the goosebumps start to hit. “Akemi” is one of the most gorgeous tracks I’ve ever heard, and is truly a perfection. I absolutely cannot wait to see Fady & Mina next month, and I hope to hear “Akemi” live! It will be a beautiful moment!

Most recently, Fady & Mina have released another new track, “Celia”, on Future Sound of Egypt. It’s clear that the duo has no intention of slowing down in the trance world. I highly recommend seeing their set at Dreamstate next month, especially if you love uplifting trance like me. They play on Saturday, November 25. For an idea of what you might hear during their set at Dreamstate, check out their recent set from Tomorrowland 2017.
