He is everybody’s favorite Degenerate with an eye placed firmly on the dark side of trance!
The year was 1991 when New York’s own Sean Tyas would become enthralled with electronic dance music after hearing a tape containing various electronic interpretations of “O’Fortuna”. Choosing to surround his life with what was then described as “techno,” Sean would make his move into music production in 2000/2001 and after many years of hard work and dedication to his craft, a moment in 2006 would change his life forever.
After releasing his debut single “Lift” on Discover Records on September 4, 2006, his talent would prove to be impossible to ignore, landing him the number one spot on the Beatport charts. But it wasn’t only the trance fans that would shift their focus over to this up-and-coming star, as Sander van Doorn saw something magnificent brewing within Sean’s musically inspired mind, selecting him as the winner of the “Punk’d” remix contest. Around the same time, Mixmag & Beatport would name Sean “Best New DJ” and “One To Watch,” marking the beginning of a rapid rise to fame for a man who had trance music running through his veins.

If you have been a fan of trance for any given period of time, then I am certain you are familiar with his unforgettable remix of Dash Berlin and Emma Hewitt’s “Waiting”, as well as his groundbreaking single “Seven Weeks”, which spent an astounding 12 weeks at #1 on Beatport.
Having remixed for the likes of Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin and Gareth Emery as well as co-producing with Armin van Buuren, Simon Patterson and many more of the scene’s biggest and best players in the trance industry, Sean Tyas has spent his years building on his very own high profile trance empire, even launching his own record label, Tytanium Recordings, under the Spinnin’ Records umbrella.
