In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2017, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bios of DJs who will take the stage at Dreamstate SoCal this year, as well as some beats to help familiarize you with their work. Next in our series is… Judge Jules!

Music producer, event promoter, radio host, club DJ: these are just a few words that describe Judge Jules!
For UK music lovers, Judge Jules is one of biggest names to ever grace the radio waves. As a young DJ in the late ’80s, Jules quickly made a name for himself in the UK scene earning him a spot as a resident radio DJ. By the mid-90s, he ranked #1 in the DJ Mag poll, back when polls were not influenced by an army of self-promoting campaigns. In 1997, BBC Radio 1 offered him a weekly spot on early Saturday night. It soon became known as the “The Weekend Warm-Up”.
In the 2000s, his reputation increased thanks to a new residency in Ibiza. The self-promoted Judgement Sundays nights on the island become a fan favourite. To this day, the residency stands strong and is one of the longest running. Concurrently, his Radio 1 weekly show continued until 2012. Outside of music, he’s also a lawyer in the entertainment business. Let’s be honest, once you’ve done everything that Jules has accomplished, you need a new challenge in life.

Jules is one of the most prolific DJs to ever brace the electronic scene. Being a radio host for over 20 years allowed him to experiment and explore many avenues. His mix compilations feature breakbeat, house, UK garage, techno, acid, and of course trance.
As a producer, however, his discography revolves around the harder sounds of trance and house. This sound also comes through his live sets at trance orientated parties. The focus is mainly on hard trance, Mauro Picotto BXR sounding classics and Gatecrasher anthems. Cue his innate mixing talent and one thing is certain: this is one set you do not want to miss out on.

With his first trance performance in the US in years, Dreamstate is honoured to bring one of the pioneers of electronic music to the festival. Come this November, please put your hands together and welcome the legend that is Judge Jules!
