Groove Cruise Miami is headed to beautiful Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos Islands) on the Carnival Victory next month on January 23rd – 27th. Included in this trip is 4 days of non-stop music from an outstanding range of artists. To celebrate this incredible journey packed with music, fun, and the Groove Cruise family, we will be highlighting six artists specifically picked from the lineup. Darude:
Darude is a name you’ve most likely heard before. He’s been on multiple Groove Cruise sailings and can be considered a veteran. So what has he been up to outside of Groove Cruise? So much! In August of 2015, he released his fourth album called ‘Moments’. This was his first album since 2007 and introduced a much different and unique sound than the typical Darude we are used to. He spoke about his new album with us in an in-depth interview when he visited Kansas City in October. He hosts a monthly radio show called Salmiakki Sessions which portrays what he is currently including in his sets and the music that interests him.
Over the last two decades, he has helped shape electronic music into the genre that we know today. He’s received multiple awards for tracks and albums and has completed remixes for big name artists like Pete Tong, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, and more. He’s played shows worldwide to all of his fans not only on Groove Cruise but events like Tomorrowland, club shows all over, and even an official after-party for TwitchCon. Showing that he truly cares about his fans, he happily poses for pictures, signs autographs, and even joins fans in the crowd at the end of his set to dance! There’s no DJ like Darude… he’s unique, humble, and a true legend.
