Each week, we will feature bio’s of four Dreamstate DJ’s as well as a set from one of their latest events or some recent releases so you can get to know them better. Next in our series is… Richard Durand!

By now we are all gearing up and getting excited as Dreamstate SoCal 2016 looms right around the corner. But we aren’t the only ones getting ready! Richard Durand is no doubt beginning to prepare an ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ set for us that will change the game and remind the world why he is one of the most relevant artists that has ever graced the scene. Richard Durand has been around for nearly a decade, making his name in the scene with remixes for Tiësto who personally made a prediction that he would shoot straight to the top. In response, Richard took Tiesto’s confidence to heart and has proven his credibility by going above and beyond anyones expectations. In his career, Richard Durand has been on the top 100 of the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll 5 times! He has also released 3 artist albums, ‘Always The Sun’, ‘Wide Awake’, and ‘vs The World’, mixed 6 editions of the ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ compilations, and has graced the stages all over the world at mega festivals and world renowned night clubs like Sensation, Trance Energy, A State Of Trance, Mayday, Godskitchen Global Gathering, Avalon, Zouk, and Ministry of Sound!

The greatest turning point of Richard Durand’s career came in 2015 when he decided to take the reins on his success and launch his very own label called ‘Reloaded’! Richard Durand has always been drawn to the underground side of trance so this new launch promised to focus on just that! In his word’s the brand would focus on the “Harder, faster, bigger, bolder, and darker” side of trance. Now, with an epic label launch comes the need for an equally epic track release. “Face of Chaos” would be just that. A brilliant new track to usher in a new era of music. Running alongside the new label, Richard Durand took to the airwaves to present his new radio show called ‘Reloaded Radio’ which would feature new tracks and special guest mixes every month. With everything including a label launch, radio show, and new tracks like “breakdown” “Dark Rising” and “Coca” in tow, the world is officially his oyster!

ISOS Set:

‘In Search of Sunrise’ is a trance music mix-compilation music CD series. Released on Tiësto’s label SongBird, a subdivision of Black Hole Recordings, it debuted on the Billboard 200 at #170 with 4,200 sales! On April 7, 2010, Tiësto announced that he would no longer be involved with the In ‘Search of Sunrise’ series, and would instead start a new mix-compilation series by the name ‘Club Life’ on his new label Musical Freedom. On April 8, 2010, Black Hole Recordings announced that the series would be handed over to none other than Richard Durand, and the rest is history! Now, you may be beginning to understand how special and epic this set is going to be! It is a set that is rare and a set that is unique to Richard Durand with a history that runs very deep.
