In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2016, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bio’s of four Dreamstate DJ’s as well as a set from one of their latest events or some recent releases so you can get to know them better. Next in our series is… Perfect Stranger!
Perfect Stranger:
Russian born, California-based, Israeli electronic musician Yuli Fershtat, also known as Perfect Stranger is one of the prominent psytrance artists in the Dreamstate line-up . Fershtat has been in the music game since about around 1997, but his Perfect Stranger moniker was only created in February 2005. Fershtat has also gone by or created projects under the names “BLT,” “Fish,” “Dozer,” and “Allto.”

He has had an illustrious career, releasing 3 full artist albums and 2 remixes albums, among hundreds of other releases. Though he often releases music via Iboga Records, he also bought the Swedish label the “Digital Structures” where he releases more of his tech trance music. Perfect Stranger is a veteran in the dance scene and he has played a plethora of festivals including some of the more psychedelic, transformation, and tribal variety. These festivals include Boom, Symbiosis Gathering, Shambhala Festival, and Sunburn Festival among many others.
Not strictly devoted to the psytrance side, Perfect Stranger tends to incorporates progressive and tech trance tunes from time to time. Since he plays multiple genres, his sets often are often hybrids between multiple sounds but always have a psychedelic undertone. He also often plays a bit slower than some psytrance artists and employs the use of heavy bass. I’m looking to hearing his hybrid master share his unique style of psytrance at Dreamstate!
