Desert Hearts founder Marbs embarks on a passion project with Evan Casey, taking the late night territory to the extreme with Desert Hearts Black!
For many years, Desert Hearts has been locked in the hearts of house and techno fans across the globe. Made for any time, day or night, it is their unique sound and pinpoint precision in delivering the best auditory experience to their listeners that has brought them vibrant and unyielding success. Today, Desert Hearts moves another step forward, announcing the arrival of Desert Hearts Black, a sublabel with a focus on the tunes made best for the late night hours just before the sun rises over the horizon.
Dreamed up and brought to fruition by Desert Hearts founder Marbs and captivating techno master Evan Casey, Desert Hearts Black seemed like the appropriate venture as their iconic late night sets at the Desert Hearts flagship festival have stirred up a drive to keep the night vibes flowing. Deep, dark, melodic, psychedelic, and brooding. Nothing cookie cutter and fluffy coming from this new project. And we are definitely alright with that!
What comes first for Desert Hearts Black?
The new label launch will be solidified in history with a massive release party to be held on August 9, 2019, in the downtown Los Angeles warehouse district, featuring Thugfucker, Marbs, Evan Casey, and Rinzen! Come and experience Desert Hearts’ alter ego in action and become part of the movement! Ticket link and info for this incredible event can be found at deserthearts.us/black!
But wait, there’s more! How about a three-track EP to get the anticipation boosted to ridiculous heights?
On the day of the release party, Marbs, Rinzen, and Evan Casey will gift the world with the Torus EP. A three-track Desert Hearts Black mind-warp both ethereal, haunting, and deliciously infectious! Now, I know what you are thinking. August 9 seems so far off in the distance. But don’t fret because we have your fix! While we wait for the release, the boys have graciously offered up the title track for your listening pleasure, today.

“The primary intention of Desert Hearts Black is to open up more opportunities for the community to experience and participate in the late night and early morning music heard at the festival over the years. Currently, Desert Hearts Records has represented our house community to the fullest and we want to provide that same outlet for those in our family who enjoy heavier, darker, more journey driven sounds.
Someone special to me once said, ‘We can easily find our way in the light, but in the darkness is where we can truly discover who we are.’ Those moments of self discovery, especially within music, have shaped who we are and how we see the world around us. This project is aimed at creating immersive experiences, of both sound and setting, to take people deeper and reach into the far corners of the genres we love so much.”
