Dreamstate SoCal 2016 | Binary Finary

In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2016, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bio’s of four Dreamstate DJ’s as well as a set from one of their latest events or some recent releases so you can get to know them better. Next in our series is… Binary Finary!

Binary Finary:

Currently based out of Sydney, Australia, Binary Finary is made up of three members – Stuart Matheson, Matt Laws, and Sasha Vatoff. The group started in 1998, originally created by Stuart and Matt. They were later joined by Sasha who acts as DJ and live performer for the group. This group is definitely no novice to the trance scene. When forming 18 years ago, they absolutely blew it out of the water creating the well-known trance classic, “1998”. The track became the first ever Trance track to enter the UK Top 30 and can be said to have helped shape the Trance genre.

Since their beginning, Binary Finary has not stopped hitting the Trance market with amazing creations. Staying true to the trance sound for both themselves and their fans has been an extremely important feat for them. In the Trance music scene, albeit becoming much more popular as of late, it can be very difficult to stay relevant when not conforming to the masses. They have had no problem with this, creating tracks that mimic the amazing sounds that Trance fans miss from way back when. Keeping that familiar classic sound in tracks while also being unique can be tough as well but the group has overcome this too, proving that they are truly trance legends. They’ve released tracks that include an uplifting melody such as “We Are In Control” and some that have a more hard-hitting fast-paced psy-trance bassline like “Binary Psynary”.

Outside of the studio, Binary Finary recently played at Luminosity Beach Festival in the Netherlands and Insomniacz: Like it’s 1999 & Trancemitta present Binary Finary (Classic Trance Set) in the UK. We’re super excited to see what they have in store for us Friday night at the Timeless Stage at Dreamstate SoCal!
