The scene has continued to grow and expand with each passing year, but while many things feel the same in the post-pandemic world, other aspects feel different. The past few years have seen genres cycle in popularity as dance music lovers flood into the community with a notable rise in the presence of 140 dubstep, drum and bass, hard techno, and hard dance.
Many artists have taken note of this change and have begun to explore different styles and layer in new sounds, crossing genre lines along the way. It’s refreshing to see a sense of creativity and togetherness flourish in the current landscape of the scene, even if many might be hard-wired into the genres they’ve held near and dear to their hearts for years. At the forefront of these dynamic sounds is the next wave of artists who are making serious moves in the community, and we’ve curated our annual list to share with you today.
We’re bringing our “new year, new us” mentality into the mix with our list of artists to watch and shaking things up a bit for 2024. With the genre-blurring concept in mind, we’ve combined them all into one curated list of 30 artists hand-selected by our team members. EDM Identity’s Artists to Watch in 2024
AbstructA
Set to show the world that American Hard Dance can go harder than the golden standard, AbstructA is ready to take over the airwaves and expand hardcore Stateside and worldwide. With a background in rawstyle, AbstructA made the switch to uptempo in 2023 and already landed a home on Young Guns Records, a certified stamp of approval from the European hardcore scene. Expect the unexpected in 2024 with this technically gifted producer. – Josue
AIMMIA
From shuffle-ready house to banging techno, AIMMIA is doing it all. This Los Angeles-based DJ and producer has been making waves for a few years, but 2023 saw her begin to turn heads from even more fans and tastemakers alike. Not only did she take the stage at Day Trip Festival and EDC Las Vegas, but she also made stops at nightclubs throughout the US. Add in the release of her single “Group Therapy,” and you’ve got the recipe for success on the horizon for this future star in the scene. – Grant
Anna Morgan
Anna Morgan has been bringing a unique rendition to the previous definition of the perfect DJ blueprint. Who doesn’t love getting down to the sassy sounds of a Sexyy Red edit being thrown on display by a genre-fluid queen? The unique flare Anna Morgan brings to the decks is exactly why we think she needs to be on your radar this year. – Brooke
Cesco
As the UK-based 1985 Music imprint continues to flourish and grow powerhouse artists, Cesco is undoubtedly one of them. His tunes range from dubstep to drum and bass, with a bit of club music in between. Cesco’s most recent EP with 1985 Music contained some highly sought-after IDs that fans had been waiting for. As more artists from the coveted label slowly make their way overseas, we can only assume Cesco will be the next to secure a visa to play in The States in 2024. – Abby
ChaseWest
Rising from the vibrant depths of the underground music scene, ChaseWest, originating from Lebanon, is swiftly making his mark with his distinctive minimal tech sound. His music, known for its mesmerizing late-night rhythms, has garnered support from renowned artists like Michael Bibi and Jamie Jones. At the forefront of Chaste Records, he is celebrated for his ability to energize crowds and keep the party alive until the early hours. Notably, ChaseWest is playing a pivotal role in introducing the unique vibe of minimal tech to audiences across the USA, looking forward to what 2024 brings. – Erik
Clawz
Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Clawz has been throwing down some pure heat from behind the decks for a few years, but 2023 saw her take some major steps forward in her career. Not only did she begin to release some epic tracks like “Higher,” “Super NinTechno,” and “RAVEYARD” with GRAVEDGR, but she also took the stage at Basscon Bullseye! and closed the first night down in style. With an upcoming performance at Beyond Wonderland SoCal and more on the horizon, this Queen of Neo Acid Techno is setting off on a path of domination in 2024, and you best be catching her play. – Grant
Colin Hennerz
If you’re in search of music that spans happy hardcore, uptempo, rawstyle, and more, look no further than the Aussie icon Colin Hennerz. While the leader of the Mullet Gang was traveling the world in 2023, he experienced a surge in loyal fans who were drawn to his eclectic style that combined electrifying energy with technical precision. 2024 is already looking bright as the phenomenal group of KAMI and Colin Hennerz are making an imminent return for a collaboration with none other than Regain. – Josue
DEEPFAKE
Unlike many other mysterious artists in the scene, DEEPFAKE is carving out their space in the house and techno realm with vibrant energy and mind-bending patterns. The duo went on a huge run toward the end of 2023 after taking the stage at ARC Music Festival and launching their new label, FAKESIDE. Tracks like “Something Real,” “Chemicals In Our Minds” with Nikki Simmons, and “Dance 333” show off the dynamic nature of their sound, and they’ve flexed their abilities behind the decks at Freaky Deaky, Groove Cruise, and even in Japan, so don’t sleep on them in 2024. – Grant
Dual Damage
Arguably, no other act in hard dance was as hot as Dual Damage in 2023. This duo went from playing bars in Europe to tearing down the biggest hard dance festivals in just one year thanks to popularizing the polarizing PVC kicks that took the scene by storm. Ellis Moss
Ellis Moss quietly made a name for himself on the industry side of the scene with his work as a ghost producer and production engineer for years, but the past few have seen him emerge as a force to be reckoned with in the house music scene. He’s dropped a number of tunes on Toolroom that have won over crowds near and far, and in 2023, he delivered one of his biggest singles yet, “Calling,” on John Summit’s Experts Only. This massive track only further solidified his status as an artist you need to have on your radar because he’s about to make some major moves in 2024. – Grant
Envine
2023 was one of the most significant years in Envine’s career as he helped launch the True Identity label, where he currently does A&R. While the ten-year veteran’s roots are tied to euphoric hardstyle, Envine is helping push all of the harder styles and will undoubtedly become an influential industry figure in 2024. But don’t get it twisted. When the scene is ready to return to the golden age of hardstyle, Envine will be at the forefront of the comeback of euphoric hardstyle. – Josue
FLY
Craving rap with a more enthusiastic bass-boosted beat? FLY is the don of taking your favorite rapper’s famous one-liners and redreaming them into your new musical addiction. His sounds aren’t the only part of his act that inspires, though. His vibrantly infectious stage presence also makes him impossible to resist. Each show that adds his name to their bill will surely increase ticket sales because his sets bring a sui generis that the scene has been lacking. – Brooke
[IVY]
Drum and bass is taking control of everyone’s soul, and [IVY] is one of the movers and shakers quickly ascending the genre’s ranks. This Bristol-based producer has already caused quite a stir with her tracks that blend modern elements with classic rave sounds on tracks like “Close To Me,” “Kill The Lights,” and “On The List,” while her set at Boomtown was incredible. If this is just the start for [IVY], then the sky’s the limit for this blossoming drum and bass artist. – Grant
Jordnmoody
Set to level up in more ways than one in 2024, Jordnmoody has quite an impressive checklist accruing for the year. Tastemakers like CloZee are proudly on his side, landing him the career milestone of performing at Red Rocks in October. His broody beats are destined to take over a sound system near you, so jump on the wagon now before you’re left behind. – Brooke
Kruelty
In 2023, Kruelty rose from the depths of Hard Dance Hell and injected a collection of terrifying records into the scene along with three “THIS IS KRUELTY” sets that personified brutality through live horror performances. Music aside, T̷H̷E̷ D̷E̷A̷T̷H̷ S̷E̷E̷K̷E̷R̷ exudes the aura of a superstar and larger-than-life character, a perfect mixture when it comes to raising the bar for hard dance artists in 2024 and beyond. – Josue
Ky William
As a key artist at the forefront of Brooklyn’s deep-tech house scene with Andhera Records, Ky William is making significant strides. His track “Touche” showcases his unique ability to blend diverse elements, setting new standards in the genre and introducing minimal tech to the USA. With notable releases last year on acclaimed labels like Knee Deep in Sound and Solid Grooves, Ky’s popularity is steadily increasing. His commitment to nurturing upcoming talent underscores his influential role in shaping the future of minimal tech. – Erik
Mikey Barreneche
One of Florida’s greatest exports, Mikey Barreneche, has been an artist to watch for many years now. With humble beginnings all over the music spectrum, he perfected his craft and built his home in the house scene. Last year proved to be monumental for the producer as he catapulted into stardom. Not only did Mikey Barreneche make his debut on STMPD Records, but he also earned a spot at Martin Garrix’s ADE and MMW parties, where Mikey played direct support in a set that proved he’s here to play with the big dogs of the industry. – Josue
MISS DRE
Since 2018, house artist MISS DRE has been climbing in popularity on labels like Slothacid, Farris Wheel, and IN/ROTATION. In 2023, she debuted on hau5trap and Spinnin Deep, spreading her unique groove even further. She also made her EDC Las Vegas debut and played her first Miami Music week at La La Land. But there’s even more, as her latest single on Insomniac Records dropped today. It’s called “Foreign Love” and it’s a banger! It will only get better from here, so strap in for the ride! – Maria
parkbreezy
Classic hip-hop, experimental downtempo, and elements of jazz collide in the groovy world of parkbreezy. As the popularity of rhythm-based music grows in the bass world, the scene has welcomed him with open arms. parkbreezy’s style isn’t just limited to the electronic scene, though, as he’s set to embark on a tour with SunSquabi this month. He’ll also join the legendary KOAN Sound for an LA stop this spring. These shows are certainly just the first of plenty of big things to come from him in 2024. – Abby
SICARIA
The once-duo project turned into a solo adventure; SICARIA has grown into her sound more than ever now that she beats to her own drum. After her role in arguably one of the top five b2bs of 2023 with Skrillex, Peekaboo, and Flowdan, she showcased her ability to tassel with the big dogs, setting the bar even higher this upcoming year. Her unfaltering drive and talent are a combo sure to catapult her even past expectations. – Brooke
SIREN
UK-based DJ and producer SIREN has been electrifying the scene with her presence over the past year. Tunes like “Dark Nights” with Stuart Row and “Subsonic” with Coppa landed to satiate the cravings of her fans, and she continued to impress behind the decks as well. Festival appearances for this blossoming artist included Let It Roll, Escape Halloween, and Boomtown, and she also joined Chase & Status during their residency in Ibiza this past summer. If you haven’t started paying attention to SIREN yet, then there’s no better time to begin because 2024 is about to be prime for this budding talent. – Grant
So Juice
Many years ago, the hardstyle scene could have predicted that So Juice would be a promising artist to watch. In the rise of XTRA Raw Hardstyle, So Juice has taken the reigns of this movement and become a revered industry leader. As a mainstay of 2023’s best hardstyle label, Gearbox Digital, So Juice is in a prime position to take control of the scene in 2024 with tons of essential IDs and unique projects. – Josue
Sonicz
As the owner of @hardstylerz_news, this newcomer to the scene put his marketing skills to the test with the launch of the Sonicz project in January 2023. In one year, Sonicz experienced success with bookings all over Europe and Australia and delivered three high-quality originals and seven nuclear editions of Sonicz Boom on SoundCloud. His love for the genre shines brightly in everything he does, making him a favorable artist to watch this year. – Josue
Strobez
Far and few between are the artists that can translate a vision as clearly and dynamically as Strobez does. The young artist began his journey in music production at just 12 years old and is already stirring the scene at 19. First making his name known locally in the Bay Area’s underground scene, he now looks beyond that to bring his signature breaks-filled sound to the masses with works like his recent debut EP, Restless. He’s already garnered support from heavy hitters such as Tisoki and RL Grime, and we can’t wait to see what he achieves in 2024. – Janice
SUBSHIFT
In 2023, SUBSHIFT made his Tomorrowland debut for the Lost Frequencies takeover and was even invited by Tchami to join him during his set to promote the track “Dreamer.” On top of that, this talented tech house beatmaker made his Ibiza debut at Ushuaia and played his first headline show in Italy. He was a popular opener for Malaa and Matroda last year, and he also spread his presence throughout ADE. We’re now stepping into the SUBSHIFT era. – Maria
Torcha
Based in Toronto, Canada, Torcha is crafting a style all his own where 140 dubstep meets touches of riddim. He’s gained support from a slew of artists in the 140 realm as well as collectives like Deep Tempo, WiddFam, and The Wheel Up Show. After Torcha made his US debut at Sound Haven Festival this summer, his already-increasing popularity in the US really began to skyrocket. Synchronously, his remix of Subfiltronik’s Pass Out VIP blew up and was getting rinsed left and right until dubstep fans everywhere knew the name Torcha. – Abby
Volaris
Volaris is not only a resident of Ministry Of Sound, but last year saw him stretch his reach to major labels like mau5trap and Purified. He had the first solo release (after John Summit) on the formerly known Off The Grid label and opened for John Summit at The Brooklyn Mirage. On top of that, he made his EZoo debut on Nora en Pure’s Purifed stage, his Red Rocks debut, and grabbed the honor of playing one of Printwork’s closing parties featuring deadmau5 and Kaskade. Pay attention to this house and techno aficionado because he’s about to blow up! – Maria
Yoko
Yoko has proven to be unstoppable in the past year, and we can’t wait to see the leaps she’ll continue to make in the bass scene in 2024. Fresh off the press from the Denver-based musician is her latest album, Wake The Dreamer. This truly impressive project shows off her keen ear for halftime beats. Not only did Yoko recently play to a sold-out Mission Ballroom with CloZee on New Year’s, but she recently announced her debut Red Rocks performance as support for Mersiv Rocks. – Abby
ZOF
Multi-talented artist ZOF has been building quite a reputation for herself in the scene since emerging just a few years ago. This Seattle-based DJ, producer, and vocalist has left a lasting impression with her releases in the realms of tech and bass house, but what she delivered in 2023 was a sensational, pop-leaning album called Nostalgic Premonitions that swept listeners off their feet. The added dimension of her fantastic sets at festivals like EDC Las Vegas and more have left ZOF firmly in our hearts as we take our first steps into 2024, and it’s clear that she’ll be up to great things this year. – Grant
ZUEZEU
ZUEZEU is one of the dance music scene’s fastest-growing talents. Originally from Hawaii, his journey from surfing and videography to music has been swift. His dynamic live performances, racking up millions of views on social media, showcase his undeniable prowess. Notable venues like The Grand and Nebula have witnessed his infectious energy, and with his 2024 release “Rage” under Thrive Music set for January 19, ZUEZEU’s ascent in the music industry shows no signs of slowing down.
