Township Rebellion and Victor Pilava share the late-night vibes of Bohemia / Mephisto on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul!
Township Rebellion has been on Adam Beyer’s radar ever since the German duo first began to rise through the ranks of the scene on Stil Vor Talent and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue imprint. All it took was one meeting in 2021, and fate would bring them to this moment, the release of their first EP on Drumcode’s “little brother” label, Truesoul. But the creation of Bohemia / Mephisto required a special weapon in the form of Victor Pilava, Township Rebellion’s colleague and close friend.
What Township Rebellion and Victor Pilava came up with is nothing short of awe-inspiring, pulling clubgoers into the deep hours of the night when the sun begins to tease its appearance. “Bohemia” represents that steady glow as it gently works its way into the body with a lovely balance of bassline maturity and playful top-end details. As the dancefloor revels in the warm chug, the environment turns inside out when a grand crescendo smacks listeners in the face with a hefty dose of electric energy. But, listeners are made right with the world after the drop, free to engage in their unique body movements without a care in the world.
When it comes to “Mephisto,” this tune has been making the industry talk as a fan-favorite ID. In fact, there has never been a Township Rebellion track that has received as many requests, and it’s easy to see why. Right out of the gate, listeners are treated to deeply unsettling soundwaves, igniting chaos on the dancefloor as the after-hours cranks into overdrive. But the real treat is when violinist Roemisch enters the fray, caressing the senses with a performance that raises every hair on the body. This is a track best listened to with the face pointed to the heavens and eyes shut tight so the imagination can run wild!
