Rezident Shines Brightly on ‘Feeling Fades’

Rezident continues to make a name for himself as he delivers Feeling Fades, his latest full-length album rich with powerful collaborations, on Anjunadeep.

David Roif, better known as Rezident, has steadily carved out a name for himself as one of the brightest emerging talents on the Anjunadeep roster, becoming a staple for the brand’s releases and events in recent years. Today, he has delivered his most substantial body of work with the release of Feeling Fades, his latest full-length album that’s landed on the imprint.

Listeners can move through Feeling Fades with eyes wide open as they encounter a variety of sonic styles: bright euphoria to dark, melancholic vibes, and nearly everything in between weave together the fabric of the 26-year-old producer’s shining achievement. Rezident elevates his sound, and his notable progressive rhythms, harmonic, uplifting melodies, and entrancing vocal collaborations allow his tracks to shine.

‘Feeling Fades’ is a collection of moments – songs that came together over the past few years, each tied to a specific time in my life… This album is made up of the tracks that stuck with me, the ones that still felt right when I put everything together. Some remind me of places I’ve been, others of people or certain feelings that are hard to put into words. Even as things change, the music is a reminder of where I’ve been – and in a way, where I’m going next.

Looking closely at Feeling Fades, “Miracle,” featuring ALLKNIGHT, sets a powerful tone as airy, ethereal vocals elevate the track into a sultry, melodic house banger. “Our World,” with Elmar, delivers Rezident’s reenergized mastery for building deep, melodic masterpieces. The dance-floor-centric sound found on this one commands more than a simple two-step, as Rezident’s productions demand danceability.

As we move deeper into Feeling Fades, “It’s All on You” with Malou is one of the album’s strongest tracks. His expertly crafted synths undulate throughout the low-end. At the same time, perfectly placed claps and well-polished hi-hats round out the rhythm of this melodic, rolling groove that we never want to end.

You will find Rezident at his absolute peak as “Only For Moment,” featuring Ekko, lands potent resonance among fans, and for good reason. Utterly synchronistic vocal harmonies usher in a powerful kick drum and a drop that implores listeners to cut shapes across the floor. Rezident flexes his production muscle on this one as the track swings from the subterranean low end to an exuberant release of melodic house mastery and rebounds into a smile-stimulating drop.

Feeling Fades provides an ideal lens into the world of Rezident. The small handful of singles that have hit the airwaves before release day have only fueled the excitement ahead of the album’s official release. “Muse,” featuring Kate Morgan, shines as an early favorite. Morgan’s perfectly polished vocals elevate the irresistible guitar plucks, heavenly synth pads, and snapping hi-hats to a picture-perfect example of what Rezident is capable of achieving when all of his hand-crafted elements come together seamlessly.

Entering the final throes of the album, “We Can Make It” is the exact dose of gritty, dark, warehouse energy the album has needed. While Rezident’s hallmark synth pads are still in high supply on this dance floor weapon, the young producer again shines through his expert-level compositions the blend of kick drums, powerful builds, and awe-inspiring melodies.

Rezident has delivered an album that stands apart from a sea of mediocrity in modern-day dance music. His easily danceable grooves, bliss-inducing melodies, and powerful bass allow Rezident to stand in a league of his own. All these exceptional elements coalesce on Feeling Fades’ curtain call, “Hold On,” featuring Von Boch and Elissa Mielke. He puts down the landing gear in expert style while maintaining a slow-bobbing groove throughout, reminding us all that all good things must eventually fade.

Feeling Fades is out now across all platforms. Check it out for yourself on Spotify, and follow Rezident’s social media channels to keep your finger on the pulse of his releases, shows, and more.

It was a decade ago that Logan Garrison, better known as DJ Lo_G, first took the stage to spin sets for crowds in the snowy towns of Lake Tahoe and Aspen. Originally spinning sounds in the realm of glitch and bass music, he began to develop a passion for all things house as he returned to his hometown and hasn’t looked back since. Over the years, DJ Lo_G has become a fixture in the Aspen nightlife scene as he has found a home at Belly Up and regularly warms up the stage for some of dance music’s biggest artists like The Chainsmokers, Chris Lake, Slow Magic, Nora En Pure, and most recently ZHU. Joining the EDM Identity team back in 2018, he’s dug even deeper into dance music and the festival scene. Whether he’s covering events like Mysteryland and shows in Aspen, interviewing artists like Hannah Wants, and reviewing fresh releases, his passion for the entire community shines throughout.
