EJECA drops a dose of underground sounds for the masses to consume this holiday season with the release of Take It on Shall Not Fade.
Northern Ireland has been a home for many of the movers and shakers in the dance music scene and EJECA has been at the forefront of that movement. He’s consistently delivered plenty of heat with his underground, rave-fueled sound in tow that offers up a range of elements that include everything from hardcore techno to sublime grooves. In 2020, EJECA delivered releases such as Polar Nation and Sunburst, while also unveiling the self-titled debut album under his Trance Wax alias as well.
This year has seen EJECA continue to solidify his place in the scene with the release of the Free From EP and a Hardcore / Rave Mixtape, and now as the winter chill takes hold he’s gifted everyone with a fresh EP to feast on – Take It. Out now on Shall Not Fade, this five-track collection sees the maestro harken back to the days of high-octane techno soundscapes while offering up a touch of melodic bliss as well.
The title track leads the way into the warehouse with a frantic, high-energy beat that will have anyone who listens bumping along in no time at all. The synths and vocals on this one immediately transport you to the peak hours of a rave when everyone is losing their minds on the dancefloor and dancing like no one is watching. “Away” arrives next with its subterranean techno grooves that drive forward into the dark abyss of the night. Its subdued beat rises as the track thuds along while offering up melodic elements and vocal samples that help create an otherworldly ambiance.
Much as its name implies, “Clunk” is a track that clunks forward from the jump. It’s a proper rave tune that will leave your brain in a haze and your feet in a frenzy as this roller coaster ride takes hold of your soul. The penultimate tune “Mallusk” directs listeners to close their eyes throughout its runtime and allow for the rolling breaks and atmospheric tones to dominate the senses. Then, to bring Take It to a close, EJECA offers up “Static.” Much like the winter season, this one brings forth a cold front of sound filled with its eerie elements. The distortion blends so well with the melodic backing, and with the vocal cuts crying out from the depths of the unknown you’ll wonder what planet you’re truly on.
