Gorje Hewek Delivers Debut LP ‘Collages’ on All Day I Dream

in New Releases

Gorje Hewek offers up serene soundscapes that will heal the soul of anyone who listens on his debut album Collages, out now via All Day I Dream.

One artist who has continued to carve out some space within the melodic house scene over the past few years and delivered immersive listening experiences is Gorje Hewek. Finding a home with Lee Burridge and the All Day I Dream family, he’s since gone on to develop Shanti Radio Moscow while releasing sensational originals such as Zima and When I Was Young with Izhevski along with remixes like Jody Wisternoff‘s “Nightwhisper” and Rüfüs Du Sol’s “All I’ve Got.”

Now, as the spring season takes hold, Gorje Hewek looks to encapsulate the organic house sound by returning to All Day I Dream for his debut album Collages. This ten-track journey is brimming with sounds that paint imagery in the mind, soothes the soul, and showcases the experimentation and unique production skills that he brings to the table. There’s a balance that the album brings along with it that is impossible to ignore, and just one glance at the tracklist will help indicate that this ride is best taken from start to finish.

Gorje Hewek begins the journey with “Forest Song in the Morning,” an atmospheric tune filled with grounding woodwinds and captivating synths that will warm listeners deep within their core while the vocals carry them forward. Although the destination might be unknown, when “Shroud in Your Warmth” comes in the uplifting, feel-good vibes make it certain that there is comfort wherever the trip intends to end. The vocals on this one truly stand out as Hewek teams up with Amonita on this tune, the first of a number of collaborations that grace the album.

Speaking of collaborations, each one brings something fresh for listeners to feast on. Makebo joins Gorje Hewek on “Mogwai” while a familiar face, Lost Desert, teams up on “Aya” to have everyone soaring through the sky. The collaboration between Gorje Hewek and Volen Sentir, “Full of Wonder,” is exactly as its name implies – as the notes grace the ears a sense of curiosity and wonder take center stage in the mind. And “Amulet” with M.O.S. is yet another masterpiece on the album as they created a tune that’s perfect to play as the sun sets on the horizon.

In fact, the mood the tracks bring along with them pairs perfectly with how the day progresses. It tells a story of morning to dusk, and then eventually the evening hours as the lighter tones from the earlier tracks disappear for deeper moments made for darkened dancefloors. “Leto Ete-Satien” and “A Man” put that on display and get feet moving before “Forest Song in the Night” enters the fray to act as the perfect bookend for this tale told by Gorje Hewek – and we can’t wait to see what immersive soundscapes he creates in the studio next.
