Goldrush Music Festival 2017 || Zach’s Top Picks

Only a few weeks until Goldrush Music Festival! Who are you most excited to see?

The multi-genre Goldrush Music Festival will be held at the Rawhide Western Town in Chandler, Arizona on November 19 & 20. Attendees can look forward to four specially curated stages and a wide variety of hip-hop, live acts, DJs, and special performances.

This year’s lineup includes Marshmello, Migos, Dillon Francis, Liz Uzi Vert, and RL Grime with support from Mija, Barclay Crenshaw, Shiba San and many others. With so many types of music on the lineup, there will be a little something for everyone to groove to.

Purchase tickets to Goldrush Music Festival 2017 here.

Take a look at the full lineup for the event and check out the stage themes for this year!

Zach’s Top Picks at Goldrush Music Festival 2017

rezz
REZZ

REZZ has become one of my favorite producers with her dark and eerie sound. 2017 has been a big year for Isabelle as she released her debut album, Mass Manipulation, and a tour that will make stops in cities throughout North America, Australia, and Europe.

Earlier this year REZZ also released a collaboration with K?d labeled “Fourth Impact”, and a single called “I”. It’s no wonder that she has garnered a legion of fans across the globe. She is killing the game and is undoubtedly one of the biggest breakout artists of the year. Don’t sleep on this one!

Malaa

As you continue down this list of recommendations you will find a theme. I really love those dark, grimy beats that might be scary to some. That’s what you get with Malaa. This French DJ and producer is currently on tour with Tchami, and I feel like Malaa’s set is going to channel those dark future-house vibes.

Malaa and Tchami also released a new track, “The Sermon”, which blends the producers’ styles perfectly to create a grungy warehouse sound. I hope Pioneer Peak is an indoor stage because that would be the perfect environment for this set.

Drezo
Drezo

Drezo is yet another dark and eerie producer I am super stoked for. I first listened to Drezo when I stumbled across a b2b he did with DJ Hanzel, Dillon Francis’ alter ego, for Mixmag and the Smirnoff Sound Collective. I was instantly a fan of his sound and had to check out more of his music.

Over the years, Drezo has released a handful of originals including his most recent release, “House”, and my favorite track “Immunity”. He has also released some insane remixes of Dillon Francis’ “Need You”, Destructo’s “4 Real”, and Drowning Pool’s “Bodies”. Things are going to get weird during this set.

A-Trak & Baauer
A-Trak b2b Baauer

When it comes to prioritizing sets to catch at a festival I like to base it off the rarity of the set occurring again. Besides the five dates in November, there doesn’t seem to be any information about future A-Trak b2b Baauer sets. The two producers have announced they are working on new music together, but who knows when we’ll get another b2b from A-Trak and Baauer. With two genre-defying artists behind the decks, I cannot wait to see what kind of set they throw down!

Claude VonStroke
Claude VonStroke Presents The Birdhouse

This is another one of those sets you have to catch because you may never see something like it again unless you attend a Dirtybird event. The Birdhouse is a series of mixes that features artists from VonStroke’s labels and others, and it is coming to the desert.

Claude has announced that Shiba San, Walker & Royce, Mikey Lion & Lee Reynolds, Sonny Fodera, Christian Martin, and Camelphat will all be joining him for this special performance and I guarantee there are more surprises to come! Claude is no stranger to good times and good vibes so don’t miss this Dirtybird party!

Zachary Lefevre

Zachary Lefevre has been listening to electronic music since the early 2000s. Although his first live show was underground hip-hop, he began listening to a variety of different genres and found his niche within electronic community. After attending more concerts and festivals, Zachary was seeking out a platform that would allow him to express his passion and love for live music and share it with friends, family, and the world. Having always been an avid writer he began to combine the two arts and shortly after writing his first article Zachary became part of the EDM Identity team in August 2015.
