Dada Life reign over the kingdom of Dada Land with a message of love, acceptance, and individuality, where the only rules are the rules of Dada!
Dada Life, the Swedish DJ duo from Stockholm composed of Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom hit the scene running back in 2006 and the momentum has certainly not slowed down. Their infectious good vibes translate every time they hit the stage and their incredible productions like “Kick Out The Epic Mother F**ker”, “Born To Rage” and “Feed The Dada”, just to name a few, will always resonate as some of the greatest and most electrified EDM productions to ever hit the airwaves. Check them out on their monthly Dada Land Radio Show and it quickly becomes clear that these two artists have more to offer up than what simply meets the eye. Versed in multiple different genres, there really isn’t much that these two aren’t capable of doing. And with an incredibly massive and faithful following, Dada Life is the past, present, and future of quality EDM production.
Just a few days ago the masters of the main stage began yet another chapter of their wildly successful Dada Land tour, dubbed Dada Life Presents: The Compound Evolved. With stops hitting everywhere from Detroit, San Fransisco, Clear Water, Miami, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Washington, Denver, Scottsdale, and Salt Lake City, Dada Life has plans to set a new bar for live performance. With such a colorful history of intense crowd interaction, crazy on stage antics, and the knack to deliver sets that are layered with energy, creativity, and dimension, a Dada Life show is a complete sensory experience. In honor of the new tour that kicked off on March 10, we wanted to catch up with the dynamic duo and ask some important questions about tour life, future goals, and everything in between. Check out what Olle Cornéer, one-half of Dada Life, had to say below!

The Dada Life message is centered on freedom of expression, positive vibes, and tossing all inhibitions to the wind. Can you talk a little about how this party-centric attitude translates into your live performances and is it ever difficult to keep up with this “always ready to party” lifestyle?
I wouldn’t call it “always ready to party” – the other description is better. It’s all about being open and happy. Leave your brain at home. People think too much in general, we want people to stop thinking and just start moving to the music. We guarantee you will be a happier person as a result.
Your new tour, dubbed The Compound Evolved Tour, is in full swing already. How will this tour trump the original Compound tour and do you have any surprises in store for attendees?
Loads of surprises! There so much and I don’t want to spoil the experience by revealing too much. But one thing: look for the golden bananas. They are hidden throughout the venue and there are clues and ways to earn your way to a golden banana! In general, this tour is a way of making the experience of arriving to Dada Land even stronger.
Dada Life live sets incorporate some really wild props like huge bananas, pillow fights (one of which broke a world record), and champagne showers leading the way. Who came up with the idea to incorporate these playful segments into your performances, and how has it helped to enhance the brand?
First, we don’t use the B-word. We also don’t work like that. We are artists. It’s not about “a brand” it’s about doing something really special for the people that come to Dada Land. We want to blur the line between us up on the stage and all the people that come to see us. We just want to feel like one huge family. Everything we do on stage, like pillow fights and other stuff, is to make us all feel that we experience the same thing in the exact same moment.
As touring artists, how do you prepare your body, mind, and soul? What are some things you do to stay healthy and happy on the road?
Tour rule number one: sleep when you get the chance, eat when someone puts food in front of you.
You are running a DJ contest for one lucky artist to join the ranks at Dada Land and play the opening set at Red Rocks in Denver on May 5th. Is there a specific style or vibe that you are looking for in the contest?
Nope, not more than the general rule of trying to do something original instead of copying.
If you could bring the Dada Land Compound anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Our dream is to get our own land, our own territory for Dada Land.
One of my favorite Dada Life tracks of all time is “Freaks Have More Fun”, but all your tracks have been hits I love to dance all night too. Out of all of your productions which ones have resonated the most with each of you?
Always the last track we create. So right now it would be one of the new songs we have just finished and are playing on the tour…
With the new year getting into full swing and of course the potential for some new Dada Life releases, can fans expect the same electro house/progressive house style from you guys or do you plan on doing any experimenting and reaching outside of your own genre?
We are working on new songs right now. Some of them sound completely new, like nothing we have ever done before. Some of them are more in the style of the hard-sausage-sound that we have evolved over the years.
Since we are on the topic of music and track production, who are some artists you currently have your ears on that we should watch out for?
No idea. Check our latest podcast to get the music we love right now, including smaller artists that we have just found out about.

Looking back on your colorful careers it seems like you have left no stone unturned and you have accomplished almost everything that a DJ or producer could ever dream about. But if there is one thing that you would still like to accomplish in your careers what would that be and why?
So much! We try to never look back and just look forward. Territory for Dada Land would be one thing.
Your fans, the citizens of Dada Land, are some of the most passionate and dedicated fans on the planet. If you could say one thing to your fans, what would it be?
Keep smiling!
