In honor of #TranceGiving, aka Dreamstate SoCal 2016, we want attendees to have the opportunity to get to know the talent who will be our “Trancegiving Tour Guides”. Each week, we will feature bio’s of four Dreamstate DJ’s as well as a set from one of their latest events or some recent releases so you can get to know them better. Next in our series is…. Ben Gold!
Ben Gold:
You may know him as Ben Gold, but others know him as Mr. Goldrush. He is one of the most exciting and astoundingly talented DJ/producers in the scene today and since his beginnings he has shown nothing but an incredible understanding of the trance community and has offered up exactly what we trancers need and crave. Whether you have seen him at an event like ASOT, EDC, Creamfields, or Global Gathering, or have simply fallen in love with his original tracks like ‘All Or Nothing’ featuring Christina Novelli or ‘Vindicta’, a track in which Ben Gold found himself brushing elbows with one of the most adored trance artists on the planet, Standerwick, you simply can’t deny that this man has a talent that is untouchable. Not convinced? How about his little tune called ‘Atomic’? If you have been in the trance scene for any period of time, you have probably heard it once or twice. Since we are on a roll, how about ‘Interstate’? It is probably one of my favorite pieces by Mr. Goldrush. It has a character to it that is just so energized and upbeat. The list certainly doesn’t stop there. Yes, Ben Gold certainly has delivered quite the array of stunning work.

Let’s get to know him a little bit more and dive back to the time when Ben Gold rose to fame. Benjamin Graham Lawton wasted no time when it came to pursuing his dream as a producer and DJ. At the age of 15 and living in London, he was determined to spread the word of music. Within just one short year he had his first original piece signed onto the “Trance Nation” compilation! From there he just couldn’t stop and before long Paul Oakenfold was even focusing attention his way and made the decision to take him under his Perfecto wing. Fast forward 10 years and Ben Gold was ready for the next chapter of his journey which would lead him to sign on with Gareth Emery‘s Garuda label. It was around this time that the world had become Ben Gold’s oyster. Dropping tracks on Armada, High Contrast, Discover, and Musical Madness, and consistently watching as his tracks were and still are chosen for “tune of the week” on both ASOT and Group Therapy, Ben Gold was and still is ready and poised to conquer it all.
These days, Ben Gold stays active on the airwaves hosting his own Goldrush Radio, and with a little help from mega label Armada, has become the master of his very own label, Goldrush Recordings. Finally at the pinnacle of his success, what will we see Ben do next? All I know is that come November we will have the opportunity to see the master at work. I can say from experience that Ben Gold is an absolute show stopper and he is going to take you to a planet that you are not going to want to come back from! Mr. Goldrush is coming for you Dreamstate! I hope you are ready!
