D-Block & S-te-Fan Are Pushing The Boundaries Of Hardstyle

After dominating Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, D-Block & S-te-Fan stopped by to keep the party going with a fiery guest mix for their Paradigm Shift debut!

For 20 years, D-Block & S-te-Fan have consistently held their spot at the top of the worldwide hardstyle scene. Throughout their career, the Dutch duo has experimented with the latest sounds hard dance has to offer, creating records that push boundaries while remaining true to their euphoric spirit.

The duo has succeeded in the highest form, performing at major events such as EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, and Defqon.1 Weekend Festival. In addition to their signature performances that always get the dancefloors moving, D-Block & S-te-Fan have also released their fair share of certified classic hardstyle records across every era. “Music Made Addict,” “Built This City,” and “World Renowned” with DJ Isaac are but a few of their illustrious career. However, one record that was always missing was a collaboration with DJ The Prophet.

“We have been working together for 15 years, and we always had the plan to collaborate,” they told EDM Identity. “Suddenly, he announced his retirement, and the pressure was on!” Both acts aimed to finish their collaboration in time for DJ The Prophet’s final album, From The Hard, but hectic schedules hindered the process. Luckily, DJ The Prophet made an exception and came out of retirement to drop their first-ever collaboration, “Nothing But Rave!”

With everything we’ve experienced over the past 20 years, we’ve learned that we cannot predict the future of music. We know that sounds and styles come in waves, and we always try to be ahead of the wave, or go against the wave when needed, riding along on elements that fit our brand and vision of hardstyle. We will be pushing boundaries, but also staying true to the DBSTF sound!

As we enter the second half of 2024, it’s clear that this is the year of collaborations for D-Block & S-te-Fan as they’ve showcased the new generation like Aversion and reconnected with old friends like Coone. “‘Nothing But Rave’ was the kick-off, and then we released ‘Live For The Hard’ with Aversion,” they said. “After this, we have collaborations with Coone, Sefa, Ran-D, and Radical Redemption coming, as well as new DBSTF songs and a new Ghost Stories track.”

Recently, the duo are coming off another incredible weekend as they took over the mighty RED at Defqon.1, hosted the Defqon.1 Theatre with a unique 4D experience called The Twilight Ceremony, and had a new Ghost Stories record included in Defqon.1’s grand spectacle, The Endshow.

With another successful edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival in the history books, D-Block & S-te-Fan don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. They stopped by to deliver a stunning guest mix for their debut on our hard dance mix series, Paradigm Shift!
