Reinier Zonneveld, Chris Lake, Sacha Robotti, FiNE, and Mojave Grey delivered house and techno heaters during the week of April 22!
We’ve come to the end of April and what a great month for music it has been! As we turn the page to May, headliners are digging into final prep for EDC Las Vegas, and we’ve got five bangin’ house and techno tunes to keep everyone motivated!
We start strong with a cinematic techno jaw-dropper from Reinier Zonneveld and D-Devils. Then the mood shifts with four different styles of house. The trio of Chris Lake, Sammy Virji, and Nathan Nicholson turn out the tech, Sacha Robotti serves classic, FiNE and Lizwi go Afro, and we close with indie from Mojave Grey and Moonshine.
After enjoying our top picks, keep dancing to our latest guest mixes from Kaleena Zanders and RN ISMO. Move it to the after-party with Revival New York‘s Revival Forever compilation, the debut of Odd Mob and OMNOM as HYPERBEAM, and DJ Holographic‘s sophomore track on Through The Veil.
If you’re looking for lineups, we’ve got you covered with Eden Ibiza, Solomun +1 at Pacha Ibiza, and Day Trip Festival in Long Beach. In addition, get the details surrounding Sammy Virji at The Caverns and Paco Osuna at Hï Ibiza this summer.

Reinier Zonneveld, D-Devils – Judgement Day
“Everything you say can and will be used against you. So Shut up and dance!” They don’t have to tell us twice! Combined with a heavy bassline hammer, speedy tempo, and hellish sci-fi monologue, those lyrics have the feet stomping and the senses engaged.
This is “Judgment Day,” Filth On Acid pioneer Reinier Zonneveld‘s latest track alongside D-Devils. Sound familiar? It’s because Reinier Zonneveld and the Belgian rave specialist have brushed elbows before on “Dance With the Devil (The 6th Gate).” Their inevitable reunion drags victims to the furthest layer of the underworld while sticking to a melodic pattern and vocal effect equivalent to the last.
Chris Lake, Sammy Virji – Summertime Blues ft. Nathan Nicholson
We ascend to the surface and trade the fires of hell for the merciful tech house heat of “Summertime Blues.” This is the first time the Black Book boss Chris Lake has joined forces with the vibey Sammy Virji and vocalist Nathan Nicholson, frontman for The Boxer Rebellion.
“I’m so happy I got to work on this track with Sammy and Nathan. I’ve loved their music and vibes for a while,” Chris Lake said. He went on to proclaim, “I’m super proud of how ‘Summertime Blues’ turned out. We wanted a drop that felt like the warmth of sunshine and that’s how it makes me feel.”
From a listener’s perspective, the rays of the sun are unveiled in the synths, and the bright bassline kick blows all the clouds away. As we traverse the tropical paradise, Nicholson’s voice provides the smooth, sweet ice cream that tops off a perfect day.
Sacha Robotti – Baby Cry
While the previous selection had us imagining the perfect day, Sacha Robotti just celebrated a real one. After a two-year hiatus, his beloved Slothacid imprint rose from its slumber with a track that’ll have fans humming long after the final beat.
“I have a thing for ’90s house with strong filter work because I grew up in Belgium. Daft Punks’ album “Homework” was on the radio, Chicago house in the clubs, the UK just next door blasting out vibey tracks that are classics now,” commented the sloth daddy as he reminisced about the inspiration for “Baby Cry.” He’s not the only one with a passion for the old school, as evidenced by the crowd reaction during Robotti’s recent rinsing of the track.
Slothacid celebrations will hit full steam this Friday at We All Scream in Sin City. Lady Sinclair, Kam Sator, and Philipp Weise are primed to warm up the decks before the boss dials up the groove. If you get there before 11pm, entry is free. Just make sure you add yourself to the guest list!
FiNE – Nomathemba ft. Lizwi
While Sacha Robotti is in the midst of his relaunch, South African twin duo FiNE are hard at work cultivating their brand new imprint, Sippy Time Records. It all began last month with “Kidonda” featuring Idd Aziz, followed up with a remix by Enoo Napa. Last Friday, the progressive Afro house up-and-comers delivered what is arguably their best track to date.
Many of us first laid ears on “Nomathemba” when FiNE included it as an ID on their exclusive EDMID guest mix. Lizwi‘s powerful voice poured out of the speakers, wrapping the listener’s spirit like a soft blanket after a long hard day. The effervescent bassline and stormy melody simply elevate this state of pure bliss.
Mojave Grey, Moonshine – Just Begun
It’s almost time to say goodbye, but here’s a little rock-meets-electronic to keep you entertained until we meet next week. “Just Begun” is the debut collaboration between indie duo Mojave Grey and deep house duo Moonshine, a union a year in the making.
When it comes to the elements, Mojave Grey’s Zander Bleck delivers handsome vocals while his bandmate Michael Pozzi strums the guitar. Brothers Oliver and Victor Simic fill in the edges with moody, mystifying vibrations. The final product will inspire you to hit the dusty trail and disappear into the dark.
