'Catharsis Remixes' Breathes New Life Into Sven Väth's 2022 Album

**Sven Väth’s historic Catharsis LP has come back around for remix action, featuring Roman Flügel, Robag Wruhme, Harald Björk, and more!**

A year and a half ago, Cocoon Recordings boss Sven Väth announced that he’d unleash his first solo album in two decades. When Catharsis came to fruition, fans were left breathless and amazed by the life-giving soundscape with 13 originals produced alongside Gregor Tresher. It was designed to express the breadth of Sven Väth’s illustrious career, and the technical impact of the album still runs deep through the industry. Today, the story trudges forward with a fresh twist.

Catharsis Remixes shines a light on a masterful array of underground talent, including Jonathan Kaspar, Krystal Klear, and Harald Björk. Each rework brings its own unique character, adding pops of color to the original palette of techno, indie, organic house, and electronica. Take “Mystic Voices,” for example. Benjamin Damage pours his heart into the pulse and slams on the gas to ensure that bodies leave dripping in sweat. Robert Hood received the memo as well, taking “Butoh” to incredible heights through an enhanced bassline.

Bass in your face isn’t always the answer, though. Roman Flügel and Robag Wruhme opt to increase the psychedelic splendor of “What I Used To Play” and “The Worm” instead. The results relax the body and expand the mind. There are also a couple of tracks that received double edits, including “Silvi’s Dream” and “Nyx.” The first is revisited by Damiano Von Erckert, who injects a timeless classic vibe, and Florian Hollerith, who turns the dream into a lucid playground. “Nyx” is a tricky one to mess with, but PAS Deep Heat and Planetary Assault Systems do it justice with their ferocious after-hours attitude.

Even the title track gets a facelift. Mano Le Tough proves tough enough to take this one on, paying homage to its tribal essence while breathing in an extra bit of euphoria. As a whole, this remix album runs 12 tracks deep, and it’s primed for your listening pleasure. Happy listening!
