Kyle Watson Flips the Script with Latest Two Tracks

Grant Gilmore by Grant Gilmore

in New Releases

South African phenom Kyle Watson drops off two new tunes on No Context that showcase different sides of his creative mind.

If you love house music and haven’t jumped on the Kyle Watson train yet, you’ve been missing out. This South African-born artist has been at the forefront of bringing dynamic sounds to the scene with releases on labels such as Dirtybird, REALM, SOLOTOKO, hau5trap, and This Ain’t Bristol, among many others. Additionally, he has taken the stage at festivals and nightclubs around the world, moving crowds with each second of his sets.

This year has only seen Kyle Watson continue to soar to greater heights with appearances at Coachella, Sound Nightclub, Dirtybird CampINN, and most recently during Dom Dolla’s show in San Diego. Before the madness of festival season ensued, the South African launched his new imprint, No Context, as a home for some fantastic releases that would arrive in the following months. Now, after dropping “Kick Drums” and “Lost” on the label, he’s graced it once again with the See Your Truth EP.

The tracks on the See Your Truth EP showcase the opposite ends of Kyle Watson’s sound as he flexes his creative might. The title track was sought after for months after he dropped it in his set during Coachella, and this bass house ride will have anyone lose their mind on the dancefloor when it comes on. From the stuttered vocal to the deep bassline, this one wraps right around your mind.

The second tune, “Where Do We Go,” is a change of pace for those who have listened to Kyle Watson for years. Dashing the higher-octane tech or bass house sounds, he leans heavily into the electronica realm and turns the BPMs down a few notches, layering in gorgeous vocals, piano notes, and a subtle beat along the way. This slow-burner is perfect for playing during those final days of summer, so make sure to give it a spin.

Listen to the See Your Truth EP on Spotify or your preferred platform, and keep your ears tuned to Kyle Watson for more releases to come in the future.
