New York City DJ and producer Avision officially launches his new label, Ground Rule Records, with its debut release, “Out of Control.”
Some of the best dance music is born in New York City. So it’s no surprise that Staten Island native Anthony Cardinale, better known as Avision, was inspired by NYC’s club culture and has been refining his craft since the age of 13.
Nearly two decades later, the DJ and producer is expanding his multidisciplinary collective with the launch of a new label, Ground Rule Records, marked by its debut release, “Out of Control.”
Cultivated from a shared love of music, events, clothing, art, and food, Ground Rule Collective has easily become a staple of the city’s dance music scene. From an event series at local venue Superior Ingredients, to a clothing drop, and now a record label, this debut track is part of a bigger movement. With its deep bassline, supporting vocals, and precise four-on-the-floor rhythm, “Out of Control” serves as a peek into the future of Ground Rule Records.
“Starting Ground Rule Records is a way for me to release all the music I want to release when I want to release it,” shared Avision. “I’m at a stage in my career now where it only feels right to do this for myself and eventually start finding younger artists to bring on this journey.”
Recognized for his modern techno and house music sound, Avision has released music on respected labels including Maceo Plex’s Ellum Audio, Crosstown Rebels, Cod3 QR, and Cocoon. Behind the decks, he’s known for creating dancefloor moments of connection and uplift. Carrying that same spirit into his new imprint, Ground Rules Records is rooted in personality, precision, and the distinctive feel that defines Avision’s multifaceted sound.
“I’m so excited for everyone to hear what I have in store for the label,” added the artist.
