This is exactly what progressive house DJ and producer OMAIR had the guts to do. He quietly pressed pause on his studio work to place focus on his physical and mental health, his growing family, and record labels OHM Music and OHM Deep State.
Tomorrow, he makes a triumphant return with “I’m Done Playing.” The track offers a direct warning to fans that the old OMAIR is gone and the new one is tearing down barriers and taking the scene by storm!
After a transformative hiatus, my return to the studio was imminent, it was just about timing. The tumultuous period of COVID presented me, as a producer, with an unexpected opportunity for introspection and growth.

The absence of live performances and external pressures also allowed me to experiment freely and explore uncharted sound territories. As the world gradually emerged from the pandemic’s grip, I emerged as a transformed producer, armed with a renewed sense of purpose and a vision that reflected the resilience of the human spirit.
“I’m Done Playing” stays true to its name by serving up the beats you need for a major push to action. He calls on the all-important hi-hat to set the mood, inviting the body to respond as a complementary bassline guides the ears to the cleverly distorted vocal. The string instrumental is up next, delivering a beautiful blast of emotion before running listeners smack into a set of dissonant crystalline tones suspended just beyond reach. Within these focal points, he serves up visceral vibrations and high-speed laser details for an extra pop of energy.
While this track marks a new beginning, it also reinforces what we’ve come to love from the Dallas-based creative: Music formed from deep notions, crafted with care, and destined to make a statement.
