John Summit drops his first-ever BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix with two hours of house hits, deep cuts, and unreleased music.
After recently releasing his remix of Schaks’ track “Moving All Around (‘Jumpin’),” DJ, producer, and bender king John Summit is satisfying the world with another special mix. This time, he delighted his loyal fan base with a captivating two-hour essential mix on BBC Radio 1 that features a collection of carefully crafted tracks from the Off The Grid label boss that include everything from house and techno to indie dance and more.
John Summit begins the mix with a fresh ID for his fans to salivate over before diving straight into tracks from the likes of AFFKT, Yousef & Bontan, Grigoré, and Prophecy, among others. While much of the two-hour ride is filled with his inspirations, there are some of his fan favorites that appear as well, including “La Danza,” “Beauty Sleep,” “Summertime Chi” with Lee Foss and Hayley May, and “What A Life” with GUZ and Stevie Appleton, as well as his hugely popular remix of “Escape” by Kx5.
John Summit also gifted everyone with some surprises as well throughout his debut essential mix. This includes a high-definition sneak peek of his highly-anticipated track “Where You Are” with Hayla and his remix of Kaskade and deadmau5‘s classic tune, “I Remember,” both of which are sure to captivate listeners. Additionally, there are a few true IDs throughout the mix to add even more intrigue, the first arriving after Jamie Jones’s edit of “Percolator” and the second making an appearance after he mashes up Deborah De Luca’s version of Robert Miles’ “Children” and his track with Echoes, “Human.”
I’ve listened to these for years and it’s always been a bucket list goal of mine to do one myself… a two hour musical journey of tracks that have inspired me and some unreleased bits.
