Legendary trance artist Paul van Dyk celebrated the 900th episode of VONYC Sessions with a video stream recorded live at The Garage in Berlin.
The trance scene’s upper echelon features several artists who have achieved legendary status, and Paul van Dyk is one of them. Not only has this powerhouse released some of the community’s most beloved tunes and taken the stage at nightclubs and festivals around the globe, but he’s also curated his own parties and showcased the sounds of others via his radio show, VONYC Sessions.
Officially launched on August 31, 2006, VONYC Sessions has since become one of the world’s longest-running electronic music radio shows. Since its first episode, the show has blossomed into a behemoth of its own and is currently broadcast over 60 stations in 28 countries, reaching over 21 million people. Last year alone saw VONYC Sessions gain 7.4 million listeners via syndication, while the podcast version garnered another 10 million plays.
The German artist looked to his home country to celebrate the 900th episode of VONYC Sessions by sharing his two-hour set from The Garage in Berlin. Kicking off with his track with Phuture and DJ Pierre, “Acid Traxxx,” he then dives into curated tunes from the likes of Nihil Young, Fuenka, 4 Strings, Push, Julian Jeweil, and more. Also found inside is his new gem with Saad Ayub and Evolution, “Ouverture,” so make sure to keep your ears tuned for that!
Paul van Dyk’s global fanbase will have the chance to catch him play this year, with tour dates announced in the late winter, spring, and summer months. He is set to take the stage at EDC Mexico, Transmission in Melbourne, and Luminosity in The Netherlands and is also set to host his SHINE Ibiza parties from July to September.
