Infected Mushroom Celebrates 25 Years in Style with ‘IM25’

Israeli psytrance duo Infected Mushroom takes their talents to Monstercat for the release of their latest body of work, IM25.

From taking the stage to perform stunning live shows to releasing monumental albums, Infected Mushroom has built quite a legacy over the past 25 years. This Israeli duo helped shape the psytrance scene while simultaneously dipping their toes in other genres along the way that range from dubstep to house as they’ve constantly evolved their sound. Now, Infected Mushroom is celebrating their massive run over the past quarter century with the release of IM25.

Out now on Monstercat, IM25 is just as diverse as Infected Mushroom has become since they first began their careers. While the sound of psytrance dominates much of the tracklist, there are plenty of other influences that find a home in tunes on the album as well. This was seen initially through the first two singles that arrived ahead of the album’s release, “A Cookie From Space” with BLiSS and “Black Velvet” with Ninet Tayeb, which see the duo flex their dynamic range.

There are some gems found in the nine other tracks that grace IM25 as well. The piano notes and vocals on “While I’m in the Mood” lead into an energetic psytrance ride that will leave listeners hypnotized throughout its runtime. Infected Mushroom layers in some reggae influences on “Business As Usual” with Hope 6 and Nick Hexum while they take everyone to a different realm of existence on the guitar-driven “Turkish Nights” with Joseph E-Shine. And if you’re on the hunt for a unique listening experience, then the psychedelic trip on “Billy on Mushrooms” with Mr. Bill will fill your cravings with its wonky wubs and glitched-out elements.

Each and every album of Infected Mushroom is a defining moment in time that displays the prolific nature of our work. ‘IM25’ is definitely experimental; it pushes the boundaries of dance music and celebrates a quarter century of the evolution of our sound. It’s impossible to capture our gratitude for this crazy ride, and for all of the wonderful people in our lives. Here’s to another 25.
