Berlin-based DJ and producer Nils Hoffmann sweeps listeners away with 9 Days / Cranes, his first standalone release on Anjunadeep.
Since first breaking onto the scene over a decade ago, Nils Hoffmann has only continued to impress listeners with his meticulously crafted productions. During this time he’s landed releases on labels like Poesie Musik, Der Turnbeutel, Armada Music, and Voltaire Music while flexing his abilities to craft melodic soundscapes. This includes impressive tunes like his collaboration with Ben Bohmer and Malou, “Breathing,” which arrived in 2019 on Anjunadeep, along with remixes of San Holo’s “black and white” and Audien’s “Wish It Was You” with Cate Downey.
Now, Nils Hoffmann has returned to his newfound home on Anjunadeep with his first standalone offering on the imprint, 9 Days / Cranes. Much akin to “Breathing,” the two tunes from this melodic maestro offer beautiful soundscapes for listeners to explore. “9 Days” was first heard on Anjunadeep 13 earlier this year and delivered plenty of emotion along with it. But the serene beat isn’t all that makes this track stand tall as Nils Hoffmann looked to Julia Church for added impact with her soothing vocals.
The second track, “Cranes,” sees Nils Hoffmann team up with Swiss artist Natascha Polké to deliver a touch more energy into the mix. On this one, the soft intro swells as layers are added in before the subtle drop that will get feet moving on the dancefloor. As the ride continues to drive forward there are flourishes of trance-inducing synths and lush chords that will leave listeners in a bliss-like state while basking in the immensity of its soundscape.
