Le Youth heads to This Never Happened to release Reminders, his debut album filled with serene soundscapes that will warm your soul.

Los Angeles-based producer Le Youth has been making sensational house tracks since he first stepped onto the scene. In his early days, he make some groovy house tunes that ignited dancefloors worldwide but found a passion for the sound of progressive house in recent years to praise from fans and tastemakers alike. During this time he’s graced This Never Happened while also starting his own label, PRGRSSN, to further cultivate and mentor other artists while growing his discography as well.

Now, Le Youth has returned to his home at Lane 8‘s coveted label, with his biggest body of work to date, his debut album Reminders. Clocking in at 15 tracks in total with four additional extended mixes on the second disc, this album tells a story of the deep connection he’s had with music since he was young. It’s personal at its core, showcasing the emotions that seep through Le Youth’s creative abilities, while also enlisting the help from some of his friends along the way.

Check out Le Youth’s debut album, Reminders, on Spotify or on your favorite streaming platform and read on for a deeper dive into its tracks.

“Then It Rained All Night” kicks off the album with a sparkling introduction and echoing voices.

With a steady beat and glistening synths, “Then It Rained All Night” gives you a glimpse into the rest of the album. A horn section takes over beside the steady beat before the track fades out with the sound of rain. As it elegantly fades out, “Lighthouse,” the first single to arrive from the album, fades in. RBBTS vocals permeate this tune while Le Youth utilizes synths this track brings a sense of nostalgia as you close your eyes and enjoy the calming undertones that carry you into “Nobody Knows” and “If Only (You Could Be Here).”

Another previously released single, “Hang On,” arrives soon after and features elegant vocals from Gordi. Le Youth maintains his unique style and back beath throughout the track perfectly blending it into the following track, “I’m Alive.” The simple phrase radiates throughout the track as the pounding synths pulsate continuously before the track comes to a close.

Le Youth enlists Sultan + Shepherd for two songs off the album, the first “New Love” which features haunting vocals from Panama. The beat ebbs and flows while maintaining the consistent deep synth. The second collaboration, “Pattern” features vocals from Emily Falvey and tells a story of coping with a rocky relationship. It offers cascading synths and steady drums adding to the dramatic meaning of the song. Sultan + Shepherd lend their own club sensibilities to Le Youth’s already notable progressive rhythms to make these two tracks dancefloor-ready.

One of the most unique tunes on Reminders is “Dreaming,” which comes in two parts. The first offers vocals from Tailor pitched down throughout the track. Le Youth once again uses strong inspiration from the nineties beats with a grand build-up paired with dull staccato synths. The second part is noted as deeper and parallels the first part. Though significantly shorter, this part has more of a subtle drum and bass beat and uses otherworldly synths, making it appear more of a fantasy.

Then, after teaming up with MØØNE and VEHA on “Skin Of Gold,” Reminders ends with the title track. Slowly building up with subtle static and gentle piano, “Reminders” brings forth a euphoric soundscape that’s youthful at its core. This song is reminiscent of twilight hours and overwhelms your childlike senses before fading out, creating a perfect ending to Le Youth’s story.

Reminders is a masterpiece that shows off Le Youth’s unique style in the most timeless way. Each track tells a story and is truly a testament to what makes him such a force in current era of the progressive house movement. This is an album you won’t want to miss a second of, so make sure you give it a spin.
