Explore the Sounds of lau.ra By Listening to Her Latest Release

Dive into the releases that have helped define lau.ra as an artist by listening to the nine-track lau.ra – Volume 1 that’s out now via Needwant.

Those who have been paying close attention to the dance music scene lately will have certainly heard songs that feature the magic touch of lau.ra. Over the past few years alone she’s thrived by teaming up with artists like Chris Lake and Riva Starr on “Beat Freak,” BRONSON on “HEART ATTACK,” Ben Böhmer on “Erase,” and Claptone on “Beautiful,” among others. Beyond being a stunning vocalist, lau.ra is also a talented DJ and producer, churning out some banging singles since first emerging on the scene – and she’s compiled a handful of them in one package dubbed lau.ra – Volume 1.

“I didn’t want the pressure of framing these tracks as an album. They weren’t approached as a ‘body of work’ I just made some banging singles,” lau.ra said about the creation of these tunes. “And then I made some more banging singles, and suddenly I had a lot of banging singles and thought why not sling them all together and press them as a collection on vinyl. So that’s how ‘lau.ra – volume 1’ was born.”

Out now for your listening pleasure and available on vinyl as well, this nine-track collection of tunes sees lau.ra flex some of her biggest hit tracks while also offering some fresh singles for added impact. Included in the tracklist are tunes that will be immediately familiar to her fans like “Sideways” with Secaina and “Get Creative” with Nova, as well as “Wicked” with Eliza Legzdina, all of which dropped back in 2020.

More recent singles to surface on Volume 1 are 2021 tracks like “Body Go” and “Don’t Waste My Time” with JessB, the latter of which received a fresh remix from Model Man as the final cut on the album. And this year has seen lau.ra deliver even more dance-infused goodness with “Chengdu” and “Blow” with Eliza Legzinda arriving in the lead-up to this release. Completing the package is “You,” a sultry tune that sees lau.ra offer up an infectious bassline and pitched up r&b vocals that really take this one to the next level.

Head over to lau.ra’s Spotify profile to stream the songs, grab a copy of Volume 1 on vinyl via Bandcamp, and stay tuned for more from her in 2022!
