Phocust Elevates Souls on Latest EP, ‘Pneuma’

Phocust puts his inner strengths on display and shares a four-track experience with the Pneuma EP on Circus Records!

Phocust has made it his mission to break into new realms of dance music and tap into what he calls the “divine frequencies around us.” He is reaching a manifold of frequencies with past EP releases, such as the KING EP on SubCarbon and Entheos on Drama Club Recordings, on top of countless singles in his discography. Phocust’s new four-track EP, Pneuma, which is out now on Circus Records, takes listeners on a short yet deep sonic journey. This EP is structured to lift the vibrations of listeners, with each track having its own influence that ascends the listening experience.

The distribution of the tracks off this EP was precise to increase potential healing. The first single, “Digital Love,” puts an electrifying bug in your ears with the catchy hook about “how we can be anything.” This track packs those new sounds that still stay true to the love his tracks radiate. The intro starts with a soft piano tune that builds behind the catchy hook, the uplifting vocals and signature sine waves carry a simple bass tune that vibrates the speakers

Following that strong starting piece, he released “Vessel” with Ipsiom within a month, giving listeners a peek into the full spiritual experience Phocust is aiming for. It starts off with a familiar melodic piano that captures you into a sound wave of dubs and showcases the development of new and captivating mixes when you set yourself free. Ipsiom brings his frequencies onto the track by bringing in a gritty bounce that gets you off your feet, and a descending piano that sends you out of this reality.

Phocust kept the track “Other Side,” which features Joe Garratt, close to his chest while releasing this EP. This track brings unreal vocal stems that take their track to a whole new dimension on the other side, of what realms music can reach. These two together created a track that opens your mind, the heavier guitar carries these vocal stems to a powerful bass line getting an earful of inspirational synths.

He also waited to release “Burdens,” which has high vibrational lyrics speaking about not invading ourselves anymore, and lifting souls to become free as the weight on everyone’s shoulders is ready to be released. The synthetic beats energize listeners with a cinematic soundtrack to conquering one’s own world. The fast upbeat bass and hyper drop intensify the feelings Phocust pours into his tracks.

By releasing the two singles a month apart and creating a familiarity but harsh contrast between them, it built the anticipation of what he was holding close to his chest; another two soul-soaring tracks that both touch many different sound techniques.

With this project I pray for the music and sounds to uplift and heal your soul. May they help you come to life again through a new encounter with the Spirit.
