Justin Jay and Fantastic Voyage celebrate five years of dynamic, forward-thinking tunes on the imprint with a three-disc compilation.

Los Angeles-based artist Justin Jay is not your average DJ and producer in the dance music scene. While he’s certainly impressed behind the decks and with his releases that range from Home and everything will come together, pt. 1 to sensational singles and collaborations, that isn’t all that he offers. Five years ago, Justin Jay channeled his own musical diversity and created a home for anyone who was pushing the boundaries of their own sound as well with the launch of his imprint, Fantastic Voyage.

Since its launch, Fantastic Voyage has delivered some of the most fantastic releases that have graced the scene from a vast array of artists. Breaking the norm of labels that feel the need to stay true to a specific sound or style has only allowed for this imprint to take flight on the creativity front as you can hear everything from house and techno to lo-fi and IDM found within its discography. And what better way to celebrate their anniversary and the artists who have graced the label over the years than by curating some special tunes for a three-disc compilation, 5 Years of Fantastic Voyage.

Fantastic Voyage dropped each disc of the compilation separately over the past month, but it was clear from the first one that it would be teeming with insane tunes. Disc 1 was unveiled on November 5 and featured selections from artists including Henry Was, PVLMS, BOT, and T. Soomian, among others across its 20 tracks. Justin Jay and Oli-J‘s “Colors” led the way with the theme of “showing your true colors” in mind to get everyone hyped for more and the following two discs delivered on that in full.

November 19 saw the release of Disc 2 with a number of familiar faces gracing its impressive 35 tracks. Whether you want to get lost in the sounds from Choopsie, vibe out with the Lisbona Sisters, get down and dirty with Ryan Clover, or relax by the pool with Danielle Sadcliffe, there’s something for everyone on this one. And if you’re looking for an absolute jam then put on Benny Bridges‘ “Hyperlink,” it’s sure to set a proper groove and put a smile on your face at the same time.

After the first two discs were fully marinated on the ears of listeners, the third arrived on December 3 for an even larger helping of beats to dance the day away to with a whopping 51 tunes in total. Disc 3 sees the return of a handful of artists from the previous two, but tunes from the likes of Bad Boombox, Brian Baker, Anna Morgan and DJ Failure, Morelia, Sam von Horn, Mary Droppinz, and DJ Earl are ones you definitely need to listen to. Additionally, AK Sports‘ “Cops In The Club” and Nikki Nair’s “The Void” kick off this disc in style and were two of our favorites to be included as well.

Listen to 5 Years of Fantastic Voyage on Spotify, or grab Disc 1, Disc 2, and Disc 3 on Bandcamp to support this inclusive label that is centered around friendship, fun, and freedom.
