A name that should need no introduction to bass music lovers is Liquid Stranger. The mind behind WAKAAN and curator of superb alien sounds, he has such a way of capturing one’s mind and taking them on an adventure with each passing release. Last year he released Ascension, a masterpiece of an album that included an absolute gem called “Psychonaut.” This track is the perfect representation of how Liquid Stranger takes listeners on a journey with sweet and weird soundscapes.
Now, it’s time to hop in our spaceships and blast off to a land of extraterrestrials with Psychonaut (Remixes). Liquid Stranger selected eight producers with unique sound designs including LICK, Blanke, and Mersiv to put their twist on the beloved track. While some of the remixes will have you breaking bones, others will have you feeling like a pile of alien goop.
Every remix was great in its own way, but there were a few that really stole our attention. 12th Planet twisted “Psychonaut” and delivered a jaw-dropping heater that’s heavy and nasty from start to finish. He shows so mercy with the energy he brings on this remix. AstroLizard’s weird and wobbly cut of the tune also blew us away, this was my first time hearing their music and I’ll surely be locked in for future releases because those static-like wubs hit the soul just right.
Hydraulix and LUZCID also had me in awe with their twists of the track. Hydraulix brings his spooky, trappy style front and center with a wobbly, low, and deep sound that you can’t help but make a stank face and get down to. LUZCID’s remix also delivers some extra energy that will make you want to get up and shake your booty with a fun, bouncy twist, But soon after it changes course, dropping into this nasty bit that any bass lover will be flocking to again and again.
