Despersion Says ‘Wake Up’ with Three New DnB Tunes

in New Releases

Despersion delivers a finishing blow to this godforsaken year with the release of three fresh drum and bass tunes on the Wake Up EP.

Throughout this roller coaster of a year, one of the few things that have helped keep everyone steady is the influx of new music in the scene. Each month has brought fresh releases and livestream performances to feast on, and a genre that has truly reared its head in 2020 is drum and bass. With established artists throwing down massive albums and new artists exploring the sounds for the first time, it seems fitting that rising duo Despersion would end the year with a banger of a release of their own.

Based out of Moscow, Despersion (Decent & Snapper) already made some waves in 2020 with the release of the Warhead EP and tunes including “Opera,” “Landing,” and “Escape.” Now, they’ve landed on High Resistance with their latest EP, Wake Up, which offers three fresh tunes that will light the fire inside your soul and keep you moving into the new year.

From the moment that the energy picks up at the 20-second mark in the title track “Wake Up,” Despersion makes it clear that they’re here to dominate the senses of anyone who tunes in. Driving forward with their unique neuro-infused style in tow, you’ll be jumping out of your chair and losing your mind throughout its runtime. “Freefall” arrives next to carry on the fast-pace as the duo teams up with 2Whales to deliver a rolling bassline and vocal that’s layered in seamlessly. And to deliver the finishing blow, they join forces with Tesla Coil for “My Eyes,” a track that offers up eerie, ominous tones that are powerful and leave a lasting impression well after it comes to a close.

Rise from the ashes of 2020 by listening to the Wake Up EP on Spotify or your preferred platform, and let us know what you think of this fresh release from Despersion in the comments!
