MiM0SA is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Psychedelic Stereo in style with the second volume that’s filled with fabulous bass sounds.
MiM0SA has been a staple in the West Coast bass music scene since first arriving with his unique style. Over the years, this creative mastermind gained notoriety with experimental releases and stunning performances, while also experiencing the ups and downs of life within the industry. Now, a decade after MiM0SA released Psychedelic Stereo that set the bar for the music that he creates in the studio, he’s gifted fans with the second volume.
Out now on Alpha Pup Records, Psychedelic Stereo VOL II offers a look into the mind of MiM0SA after facing a flurry of emotions that hit him hard in 2019 that included two of his best friends passing away. Devastated by their loss, he spent much of the year reflecting on the past decade of his life while also getting sober. Finding solace in the studio, he looked to his earlier sound and the wisdom he’s gained along the way to influence this new release.
There is so much raw emotion poured into this album as he celebrates life, perseverance, friendship, self-discovery, struggles, and more. You can hear the growth and feel the emotion that was put into the 11 tracks on Psychedelic Stereo II, and it’s incredible seeing him back and better than ever. Give it a listen on Spotify or your favorite platform, and read on for a deeper look at some of the tracks that stood out the most!

Psychedelic Stereo is a tasteful collection of bass music, with some far out collabs and incredible sound design all around.
MiM0SA has obviously been cooking up some super nasty beats in the studio, with Psychedelic Stereo and one track really stood out was “Freak.” They say good things are worth the wait and after listening to this track that statement holds true. It is full of grimey basslines, mellow drums, and thick kicks, and is everything that makes up the perfect bass track as it will have your insides vibrating in no time at all. “Holy Fire” also carries those qualities in full with distorted sounds and those sweet West Coast bass vibes.
If you like drippy, low-end beats mixed with that west coast sound, just wait till you hear MiM0SA’s collaboration with Chase Manhattan, “Tokyo.” These two creating one banging tune with this one, I’m surprised they didn’t catch the studio on fire when working on it. Additionally, MiM0SA offered up two remixes on Psychedelic Stereo VOL II, with the original version of “Psychedelic Stereo” being spun into a chilled out jam that will dominate your mind and “Pandora” being twisted in the trappiest of ways.
“Waiting For You” and “My Love” with Heather Reffell are dark, yet beautiful, pieces of music. Reffell’s vocals blend in so perfectly with MIM0SA’s sound design, and the scratchy and wobbly bass in “My Love” made it a top contender for my favorites on the album. You definitely shouldn’t sleep on these two tunes.
Overall, I loved all the dark and eerie vibes that you could hear in parts of Psychedelic Stereo II, especially in the closing track “You Don’t Know.” The animal sounds you hear subtly in the background are paired with the drums to create some vivid imagery when you listen to it. I instantly imagined walking through a jungle surrounded by nature on a vast exploration to find a far off renegade and only following the booming beat as my guide. Put this album on and let yourself drift into a daydream, you won’t regret it!
