What was your first electronic music event?
My first electronic music event was eight years ago in a now shut down warehouse in Albuquerque! It was mainly trance and progressive house. My first festival was EDC Las Vegas 2017.
The first big name artist I saw was Boombox Cartel, five years ago before they made it big!
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I grew up listening to Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead, Kaskade, Bassnectar, and Excision. I guess you could say their music influenced me because I always wanted to be around that type of music in a live setting.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
I went to Deadrocks V in 2018 and my friends and I saw a girl who was sitting by herself so we decided to introduce ourselves and become friends. It turned out that she was just waiting for her friends which we all met and instantly clicked! We ended up spending the whole night with them, and then the whole next day of Deadrocks.
Since then, we’ve kept in great contact and have a few festivals planned out to see each other at. They were from Texas and were some of my favorite people I’ve ever met!
What is your favorite festival or event?
My favorite event ever is Deadrocks! The Zeds Dead family that comes out for it is the most loving and supportive group of people I have ever met! Plus it’s also at my favorite venue!
But with a Wakaan fest coming up, that will surely be my new favorite festival.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
That’s super tough, I have such a wide variety of favorite songs, but I guess my #1 right now is “Dissolve” by Liquid Stranger. That song has gotten me through my absolute darkest days and helped me connect to my inner self on an unexplainable level. I even have the word dissolve tattooed on me!
Who are your favorite artists?
Zeds Dead, Liquid Stranger, G-Space, Kaskade, Porter Robinson, Toadface, LSDREAM, PEEKABOO, Seven Lions, Rufus du Sol, Illenium, Charlesthefirst, Odesza, and Flume.
What are your favorite genres?
I adore freeform bass, experimental bass, dubstep/riddim, vibes/deep house, and fairy music.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
I feel like everyone knows me as the girl with the sunflower tattoos who loves to dance weird and play with her flow toys. I’m known for spreading positivity and listening to weird music.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
I’m just so thankful that I chose the path in life that led me to this incredible community. I was always told not to talk to strangers, but strangers have turned out to me the most incredible people in my life. I will never leave this community.
