The UTOPiA SySTEM tour returns with two shows at the Shrine Auditorium in honor of Virtual Self’s recent Grammy nomination.
Did you miss the incredible UTOPiA SySTEM Tour last year? Saw it and still itching at the chance to see it again? Well, you’re in luck: Porter Robinson just announced two upcoming shows at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles coming off “Ghost Voices”‘s recent Grammy nomination for ‘Best Dance Recording’. Set for February 7 and 9 (with the Grammy’s themselves on the February 10), it’s a can’t-miss event that any fan of Robinson or his alter-ego Virtual Self should try their hardest to catch.
For those unfamiliar, Virtual Self is Porter Robinson’s spin-off project focusing on late 90’s and early 00’s sounds. Heavily inspired by the soundtracks for PS1-era Japanese RPGs and spawning a range of genres, his self-titled EP came out at the tail end of 2017 with “Ghost Voices” as the lead single. The song quickly became a hit, and can still be heard throughout multiple different remixes across the current festival circuit.
With the conclusion of the UTOPiA SySTEM tour in October, it was unclear when Virtual Self would tour again. These two new dates seem to be one-off, however; I wouldn’t expect a brand new tour announced for a few. Tickets for the show on February 9 are already sold out, so grab them for the February 7 date while you still can. If you opt to buy tickets from a third party, don’t forget to pay attention to these top tips!
