SLANDER teams up with Riot, Spag Heddy, and Dylan Matthew to drop EP banger, ‘The Headbangers Ball’!

Drawn from the inspiration of a mansion party in the Great Gatsby era, The Headbangers Ball concept was fleshed out by American DJ duo, SLANDER during their Las Vegas residency. Taking the stage on the tour that shared the same name this year, they teased fans with some new tracks interlaced throughout their bass-fueled sets. Now, SLANDER has gifted their loyal following just before the holidays with a three-track EP released on Monstercat.

Take a listen to The Headbangers Ball EP on Spotify below, stream or download it on your preferred platform, and read on for some more insight on the release!

Stream SLANDER – The Headbangers Ball EP on Spotify:

Kicking off the EP is “You Don’t Even Know Me”, a solid collaboration between SLANDER Isreali DJs and producers Riot, that is a sublime mix of angsty emotion-driven lyrics blended with contrasting heavy bass drops. Although it was officially released earlier this fall, we couldn’t stop playing this track all season long and are glad to see it included in this three-track offering!

Next up is “Running To You”, a collab with Spag Heddy that might just be my favorite new release of 2018. Featuring vocals by Elle Vee and interlaced with Spag Heddy influenced drops, “Running To You” builds from hauntingly dulcet vocals that transition back and forth into munchy dub.

Closing out The Headbangers Ball EP is “Hate Being Alone”, a collaboration with Dylan Matthews which provides an emotionally inspired vocal line that adds great depth to the piercing synths and weighty percussions of the signature SLANDER drops. Earlier this year, SLANDER, Seven Lions, and Dabin teamed up with Dylan Matthew who provided vocals for “First Time”, a melodic track about first love, so it was great to see them work together again on this tune.

Between touring and combining their ever-evolving sound with some of the pre-eminent artists in the scene today, SLANDER has had a busy 2018. Based on their trajectory to this point, the sky is the limit for this gifted duo. Let us know what you think of the release in the comments!
