#TBT || Zedd – Find You (Feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant)

Maria Clinton
Find You

This week’s #TBT gets the love juices flowing as we travel back to 2014 with Zedd’s uplifting mainstage smash hit, “Find You”!

Zedd‘s “Find You” was a song produced for the film Divergent and released as the first single off of the soundtrack on January 26, 2014. Featuring the romantic vocal stylings of Swedish songbird Miriam Bryant and American pop singer Matthew Koma, the track was written by all three artists with a little help from Victor Radstrom, a frequent collaborator of Bryant.

While the original eventually found its way into the souls of many of our favorite mainstage producers for some incredible remix action, including Dash Berlin and Tritonal, it is the original work of auditory art that continues to pull at our heartstrings four years later. No matter what form of “Find You” you choose to enjoy, it consistently proves to be the perfect uplifting auditory snack sent to melt our hearts and unite us together as one on the dancefloor!

I still remember the first time I heard Zedd’s “Find You”.

My husband was playing a DJ gig at a local bar. It was a quiet night and while most of the patrons were crowded around the bar or playing coy as wallflowers often do, all it took was the first verse from “Find You” to flip the dynamic of the club on its head.

As the voices of Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant lingered through the room, everyone eventually made their way to the dance floor to get swept away in the beautiful essence of love. Instantly, I was hooked, and as I locked eyes with my husband, I fell head over heals like I was looking at him for the very first time. A true nod to the undeniable power of “Find You”!

Zedd – “Find You” Lyrics:

[Verse 1: Matthew Koma]

Silent love is calling faith

To shatter me through your hallways

Into echoes, you can feel

And rehearse the way you heal

[Pre-Chorus: Miriam Bryant]

Make them dance, just like you

Cause you make me move

Yeah, you always make me go

[Chorus: Matthew Koma]

I’ll run away with your footsteps

I’ll build a city that dreams for two

And if you lose yourself, I will find you

[Verse 2: Matthew Koma]

High on words we almost used

We’re fireworks with a wet fuse

Flying planes with paper wheels

To the same Achilles heels

[Pre-Chorus: Miriam Bryant]

Make them dance, just like you

Cause you make me move

Yeah, you always make me go, oh

[Chorus: Matthew Koma]

I’ll run away with your footsteps

I’ll build a city that dreams for two

And if you lose yourself, I will find you

[Miriam Bryant]

Yeah, you always make me go, oh

[Bridge: Matthew Koma]

Open up your skies (Turn up your night)

To the speed of light (Turn up your night)

Put your love in lights (Turn up your night)

I will find you

[Pre-Chorus: Miriam Bryant]

Make them dance, just like you

Cause you make me move

Yeah, you always make me go

Yeah, you always make me go, oh

[Chorus: Matthew Koma]

I’ll run away with your footsteps

I’ll build a city that dreams for two

And if you lose yourself, I will find you

(Yeah, you always make me go)

[Outro: Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant]

Turn up your night

Turn up your night

(Turn it up, turn it up)

Turn up your night, I will find you
