Above & Beyond Is It Love? (1001) Gabriel & Dresden RemixThis week Above & Beyond handed the keys to one of Common Ground’s best tracks to Anjunabeats veterans Gabriel & Dresden.

This track has already lived several lives. The hook was born in the March 2017 single “1001,” eventually growing into the Common Ground track “Is It Love? (1001).”

From the get go, Gabriel & Dresden’s remix centers the 80’s post-punkiness of Jono Grant’s vocals, evoking a lighter brand of The Cure.  The drop inverts the hook of the original by dropping a note out of it and making it more aggressive. The effect leaves the listener with an addicting off-centeredness that carries to the end of the track.

In Gabriel and Dresden’s hands, the track simultaneously becomes more major-key and uplifting, and more peculiar. Hear the track on Above & Beyond Group Therapy 289 or on your favorite streaming platform! – Kayla

Blonde - Me, Myself, & IBlonde brings those true house vibes front and center with “Me, Myself, & I”!

Who said that classic house music was dead? This hot new track from Blonde is absolutely stocked full of house grooves and lyrics that channel a different era of house music that was dominated by uplifting vibes. Riding the line between pop and house, “Me, Myself, & I” is an dancefloor stomper that will have you singing along with its powerful vocals from Bryn Christopher. If this tune is any indication of a resurgence of those classic 90’s house vibes, we can’t wait to see what else is to come from Blonde in the coming months! – Grant

The Chainsmokers - Somebody (EGZOD Remix)EGZOD puts his spin on The Chainsmokers’ tune “Somebody”!

One of our favorite artists who has been rising through the ranks over the past year is none other than EGZOD. First discovering him back at EDC Orlando, he has continued to leave us impressed with his live performances and quality releases that keep us coming back for more. Now, he has helped keep those summer vibes flowing with the release of his take on The Chainsmokers’ hit tune “Somebody”, and my oh my is it a solid remix. Listen to it today and read our interview with this artist to get some more insight into his style and more! – Grant

TEDDY ROSE shows us some serious flair on remix of “Saviour”.

Another rising star who is quickly making some waves in the electronic music scene, Teddy Rose has continued to pump out quality tune after quality tune over the past few years. Looking to explore some new sounds and a fresh style this year, he put his spin on Daisy Gray’s sensational track “Saviour”, creating an absolute banger of a tune that will surely have you dancing the day away. This remix will surely have you shuffling away with its solid electro grooves and anthemic rock-like feel to it. – Grant

Dave Winnel & DLMT-Always Feel Like
Reworking classic tunes is always a unique challenge but Dave Winnel and DLMT have nailed it on this one!

When the era of the 1980’s and Michael Jackson’s Thriller dominated the pop music landscape one was likely to hear imitations and spin offs.  Mr. Jackson lent his talents to Rockwell’s “Somebody’s Watching Me” in 1984, providing that catchy hook, “I always feel like somebody’s watching me.”

Circle forward and you’ve likely heard The Beatfreakz 2006 pseudo-cover powering the mid-2000’s with their modern dance take.  Now, we can revive the mood again!  Dave Winnel and DLMT reignite the track with a modern twist on that catchy hook in “Always Feel Like.”  A slower BPM drives the track than the 2006 version, but there is a sunny mood to the track – perfectly ready for sing-a-longs in the pit at the main stage.

The drum work is also inventive throughout the track, moving and grooving to different patterns in the breaks between the drops.  If you want a warm, house track that guides you to the fun atmosphere of a holiday in sunny skies, check this track out. – MyStro

Oliver Heldens gives Sidney Samson’s classic “Riverside” a futuristic revamp!

Heldens takes Samson’s track to the future by trading in the drums and drop incorporated in the original for a darker synth sound. He stays true to the O.G. Riverside too, of course, as the track wouldn’t be the same without the iconic “Riverside motherfucker” hook and fabulously kitschy horn elements.

The new “Riverside”, dubbed “Riverside 2099” offers Heldens’ unique take on the track, which influenced him along with many others when it first came out. While Samson’s Riverside is full of lighthearted, playful elements, Heldens’ goes deeper and darker, resulting in an excellent tech-house contrast to the original.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of Samson’s “Riverside”, an Oliver Heldens lover like us, or are just a sucker for a good house track, “Riverside 2099” is definitely a track you’re going to want to check out! – Sydney
