After a monstrous 2017, Monstercat announces two sub-labels – Instinct and Uncaged – to represent their bass and pop catalogs.
We all watched Monstercat, this amazing, independent label dominate the music scene last year with their cutting-edge releases and talented roster. They released Gareth Emery & Standerwick’s “Saving Light,” featuring HALIENE, which became ASOT’s Tune of the Year with its powerful message. The label also rose to the top at EDCLV 2017 with their takeover of the Kalliope Art Car for a full day of fantastic tunes.
The CEO of the label, Mike Darlington, made a special announcement that the label will be launching two new brands known as Monstercat: Uncaged and Monstercat: Instinct. The Uncaged side of the label will feature the heavy-hitting, bass-fueled side of their catalog. Darlington had the following to say about Uncaged:
Monstercat: Uncaged is the continued evolution of the music that defined our early years. The combination of live events, bass music, and gaming laid the groundwork for our deep love of electronic music. Uncaged allows us to heighten the focus on these core elements to create a compelling experience for our community.
The Instinct brand will represent the pop-infused faction of artists within the label. Fans of vibrant, emotional, and melodic music can find some amazing artists under this sub-brand. Darlington commented on Instinct:
Monstercat: Instinct represents an important development in the tastes and interests of the Monstercat family. As we’ve grown, new music, events, and clothing brands inspire us to strive for further innovation. Through an exploration of art, creativity, and beauty. Instinct will develop the unique stories of our artists worldwide.
The creation of both brands sets up a symbiotic ecosystem allowing each fan of the label to have their own unique music experience.
Confirmed artists heading over to the Uncaged lineup are Darren Styles, Modestep, Pegboard Nerds, Dion Timmer, Stonebank, and Gent & Jawns with more to be announced. Artists coming to the Instinct brand will be Didrick, Conro, Vicetone, Stephen, Rogue, and Grabbitz.
