Grant Gilmore by Grant Gilmore

in Playlists, Music

SOLANO draws from his Latin influence as he aims to win the hearts of fans around the world with his music.

Hailing from Colombia but raised in Miami, SOLANO’s Latin roots run deep and it definitely shows in his original tunes and remixes. Surrounded by the richness of the Latin Music Scene SOLANO has drawn from love ballads, rock classics, and more to create his signature sound over the years.

He has caught the ear of DJs ranging from Sander Van Doorn to Tiesto and has releases on some of the top labels in dance music like Armada and Spinnin’. His official remix to J. Balvin’s tune “Sigo Extrañándote” is a must listen, and he has been impressing festival attendees around the world with his performances at TomorrowWorld, Electric Zoo, Ultra Music Festival, with more on the horizon.

Signed to Universal Music Group’s dance imprint Aftercluv, SOLANO continues to impress both tastemakers and music lovers alike with tracks like “Trouble” and most recently “Sweet Lies”. Shot in Miami, the music video for “Sweet Lies” paints a picture for the deeper meaning of the track, which highlights destructive habits in the efforts to live in the moment.

The recently released music video and SOLANO’s Latin influence caught our ear, so check out the music video and get a deeper look into his influences as an artist with his top tracks below!

Read about why SOLANO selected these tunes and how they influenced him as an artist!
  1. Soda Stereo – De Música Ligera
This is probably my favorite song of all time. It has incredible feeling and energy, something I always try to include in my songs.
  2. Juanes – A Dios Le Pido
This track is a huge Rock classic. I love the guitars and composition, and I use guitars in a lot of my songs.
  3. Los Enanitos Verdes – Lamento Boliviano
A Latin classic and huge sing-a-long track. I try to create sing-a-long vibes in my tunes!
  4. Soda Stereo – Persiana Americana
A Rock classic about love. I love writing songs with a Rock influence that talk about love.
  5. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs – Vasos Vacíos (En Vivo)
A Ska-style love song. I love the trumpets on this one, something I have used in a few remixes I’ve done.
  6. Nicky Jam – El Perdón
A Reggaeton Classic. I love the vocals and Latin influence in the track.
  7. J. Balvin – Sigo Extrañándote
One of my favorite songs by a Colombian artist, I feel blessed that I got to do the official remix for this track.
  8. Carlos Vives – La Tierra Del Olvido
A love ballad with incredible melodies. My music carries this melodic influence.
  9. Juan Luis Guerra Y 440 – Burbujas De Amor
A classic love song, I write tons of love songs and this was probably one of the first I fell in love with.
  10. Café Tacvba – La Ingrata
A Latin party anthem. I carry this one in my blood, while always creating party vibes with my music.
