What began with “Mota-Mota” and “Running Up That Hill”, Markus Schulz has delivered on the next chapter of Dakota’s unique introspective exploration with “In Search Of Something Better”.
The new Dakota era has arrived and The Nine Skies project continues to stun fans all over the world. The project provides an out of the box way to interpret the music that touches us far within our souls. With roots embedded deeply within the Taos of Reiki, The Nine Skies explores the deep depths of our unique life choices and highlights the journey that takes us from the dark and drops us into the light.
Taking this vision one step further, each of The Nine Skies tells a personal tale of enlightenment and unveils the very real quest that Markus Schulz has begun, inspired by the life altering insights that he has experienced along the way.
With a swirling darkness that glides below playful percussion and rising synths, “In Search Of Something Better” finds an insatiable balance between lighthearted melody, driving energy, and heavy, tech saturated vibes that play in perfect harmony with the phantoms of the night. It is clear now more than ever that Dakota is back and better than ever and I think it is safe to say that the rabbit hole just got a whole lot deeper!

When taking a look at the inspiration behind “In Search Of Something Better”, Markus Schulz explains that the track represents the Visionary or the seventh of The Nine Skies stages:
“To understand the world we live in, our first instinct is to learn as much as we can about it”, he says. “What I’ve become ever more aware of is that true understanding starts from within. To begin to fathom this world” he continues “we must first fathom ourselves. An interesting aspect occurs as we reach the next level on our path to enlightenment. We begin to see things clearly. We understand the purpose of the circumstances around us; developing clarity of sight and thought in the process. Whereas before we would question how and why; we now accrue knowledge of how everything in the world is connected”.

The third single from The Nine Skies has already been making its mark, with the debut finding a home among the techno inspired crowd at Mayday Dortmundas. Soon Markus would make his way over to this year’s Tomorrowland celebration and in using what could arguably be the perfect platform to unleash new material, “In Search Of Something Better” blasted its way through the airwaves during the third of his three stunning performances.
But that’s the past. So, what about the future? In preparation for London’s SW4 Festival later this month, “In Search Of Something Better” will be waiting patiently on a massive tracklist primed to set the dance floor on fire, as promised by the Maestro himself! As we move into the latter half of 2017, it goes without saying that The Nine Skies will continue to gain momentum and it is only a matter of time before the next chapter is revealed!
