Above & Beyond hit us right in the feels with their poignant new single “Tightrope” featuring vocals by Marty Longstaff.

Above & Beyond are nothing short of a worldwide phenomenon. With scores of original tunes, a wildly popular radio show, and headline performances at major festivals around the globe, their legion of devoted fans watches their every move with bated breath. Today, the beloved trio released the long-awaited “Tightrope”, heard by fans around the world at Ultra Music Festival and EDC Las Vegas and premiered during their recent tour of India.

Anyone who has followed Above & Beyond for any length of time will immediately recognize their signature craftsmanship in this tune. Featuring a gorgeous, haunting vocal by Marty Longstaff and lyrics penned by Tony McGuinness, “Tightrope” carries listeners along as our hero struggles to find his way, a feeling perhaps all too familiar in these troubling times. The despondent lyrics are juxtaposed against an uplifting piano melody with just a hint of sadness, expertly reflecting the feeling of disappointment and solitude portrayed by the vocals.

Above & Beyond "Tightrope"

In addition to the original, Above & Beyond released a club mix of the track, providing a more dancefloor-ready accompaniment to what is certain to be a staple of their performances in the days ahead. The group is gearing up for even more tour dates this season, including appearances at Outside Lands, Creamfields, and a special performance at the sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado alongside Seven Lions.

In six short weeks, fans from around the world will travel to The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington to celebrate the broadcast of the 250th episode of their iconic Group Therapy radio show. The group’s first-ever weekender, ABGT250 will feature performances by a range of artists spanning Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep imprints, as well as a yoga set by the group themselves. We can be all but certain that we will hear “Tightrope” there.

Erin has been listening to electronic music on and off since the early 2000s, which is when trance music captured her heart and soul. Over the years, she has expanded into a number of other styles and genres, especially techno and house. Originally from Chicago, she spent the better part of the last decade seeking out any electronic music she could find, and traveled the length of the country in search of some incredible moments at festivals like EDC, TomorrowWorld, and the Dirtybird Campout. Having since settled in Denver, she focuses her energies primarily on the house and techno scene around town and traveling to mountain and west coast festivals whenever possible.
