If that news wasn’t enough to get the pulse pumping then how about we throw some new music in the mix!

Markus Schulz has taken the opportunity to deliver a brief taste of his follow-up to “Mota-Mota”, a tech-centric track that was a bit off of the beaten path for the Dakota brand but still smothered in those dark vibes that the alias is known for. For his next gift to the trance universe, he switches gears a bit with his club adaptation of Kate Bush’s timeless “Running Up That Hill”. Featuring the gorgeous and whimsical vocal stylings of Bev Wild, the track stays true to the original with a melody very reminiscent of the vision that Kate Bush laid out in the original. On Markus’ rendition, he amps up the energy with deep synths partnered with a powerful crescendo, perfect for hypnotizing trance audiences on dance floors all over the planet.

Dakota - Running Up That Hill

Markus’ search to find exactly the right voice to do justice to his cover proved to be quite the exhausting process. After searching for just the right fit and searching through countless demos, that hunt ended with the discovery of singer Bev Wild. A newcomer to the electronic dance music kingdom, she proved to be just the right fit to bring justice to the original that has such a specific vibe and character. Bev Wild brings the track a vocal conviction way beyond her years, upholding Kate’s tone in brilliant fashion and conveying every brutally truthful, painfully sensual ounce of “Running Up That Hill”. It was as if Bev Wild was born to be the vocalist on this track and Markus Schulz hit the nail on the head with his selection.

So basically, he’s ripped off Kate Bush’s song (poorly), and borrowed from her conceptual idea of The Ninth Wave. He didn’t even bother to think of his own scenario, just set it in the sky instead of the sea?! Poor
