Welcome to The Launch, EDM Identity’s weekly playlist series made up of fresh tracks that we love.
Music connects each and every one of us, whether you are listening to trance, house, dubstep, or any other genre, we are all one with the beat. Exploring new genres and artists.is a crucial element to falling deeper in love with music and opening doors to new experiences in life. Every week we will be taking you on a journey of musical discovery, highlighting five new tracks that we are currently tuned in to. This week’s edition of The Launch is presented to you by…Grant Gilmore.
Grant’s Blurb:
It’s my birthday this week, so I decided to jump on this week’s edition of The Launch and bring you some beats that I’ve been listening to on repeat over the past month. I have really fallen in love with these tunes, and while many of them have been discussed before on the site they are all quality in my eyes (and ears too). Today was the first full day back from Miami, and four of these artists coincidentally made up the vibe for my past week. I also feature the new tune from Dombresky that just was released today because it blew me away each time I listened to it and didn’t want to wait to share with you all!

5. Bass Jam – BONNIE X CLYDE
BONNIE X CLYDE – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
“Bass Jam” has been a track that was not just a quality tune, but an infectious one too. Having been following this duo since their release of “Tonight” last year, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of their releases and bookings as of late. They took the decks multiple times last week during Miami Music Week and even showed up during Adventure Club’s show as special guests for Bonnie to belt out “Stay Gold” too. If you don’t know about this duo now, stay tuned because they are set to blow up this year.

4. Rise and Shine – Deorro
Deorro – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
I love Deorro, and I absolutely love this track off his upcoming debut album Good Evening too. Bringing with it an electro-swing style vibe, I cannot stop listening and dancing to this track. I cannot wait to catch his album release party at OMNIA on March 31 and hear this track played out live. If “Rise and Shine” is evident of the rest of the sound coming on the release, this album may be one of my top albums of the year. Keep your ears on Deorro as his music will be bringing a fresh take to the electronic music scene this year

3. I Found You – Son Of 8
Son Of 8 – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
While the lyrics from this Son of 8 track aren’t new, the beat is definitely fresh and gets me grooving every time I hear it. A perfect track for your upcoming spring or summer playlists, I cannot help but have “I Found You” on repeat. The lyrics, which originally were from Axwell’s tune of the same name, complement the proper uplifting, high energy house sound that transports you to a beach paradise. Listening to the track washes your worries away, so take a listen and read our interview with Son of 8 below!

2. Technikal – Dombresky
Dombresky – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
All I can say about this track is “Woah…”! Coming in as a last-minute addition to this week’s The Launch, the first release on Insomniac Records’ latest imprint In / Rotation, “Technikal” has got me stunned. I love the style the track brings with it and I can see the direction that this new venture is heading for the Insomniac team. Expect this track to get played out constantly this summer, as it is the perfect groove for a party at home or a stage like neonGARDEN at EDC Las Vegas.

1. 1001 – Above & Beyond
Above & Beyond – Facebook | Twitter | SoundCloud
Yeah, yeah, I’m a sucker for Above & Beyond. I love them a ton and had an unreal experience catching them during Miami Music Week last week. Of course, they played this track out live, and let me just say that it hits harder than you’d expect. I highly suggest catching them soon if you can, and start saving up for ABGT250 at The Gorge in September!
